vaccine effectiveness

Researchers found that between April 1 and August 31, 2022, a total of 1.71 million people over 18 years old in the system were diagnosed with the new coronavirus, and a total of 700,000 people (accounting for 40.9%) were included in the treatment scope of Paxlovi, of which nearly 200,000 people received Paxlovid treatment within 5 days of diagnosis and 500,000 people did not receive treatment.
Results found that among the patients treated with Paxlovid, a total of 29 deaths were killed, accounting for 0.01%, while those who did not accept it were 182, accounting for 0.04%, which means that the risk of death was reduced by about 2.5 times.
Conditions for receiving treatment: 1. Test positive; 2. Consistent with mild to moderate symptoms; 3. Symptoms occur within the past 5 days; 4. Age older than 18 years old; 5. At least one risk factor for progressing to severe symptoms; 6. No serious renal or liver damage; 7. No significant response to the Paxlovid component; 8. No contraindications.

A total of 12,541 people received treatment from Paxlovid, and 69 people developed severe hospitalization or death, accounting for about 0.55%.
Among the 32,010 people who did not use Paxlovid treatment, 310 developed severe hospitalization or death, accounting for 0.97%.
