Roche "Lung Cancer Rare Target Ecological Alliance" was officially established at the CIIE
Day ago, at the 5th China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as "CIIE"), Roche Diagnostics and Roche Pharmaceuticals joined hands with seven leading gene detection medical technology partners in China to establish the "Lung Cancer Rare Target Ecological Alliance". The alliance will fully integrate the advantages of diagnosis and pharmaceuticals, work together to create an innovative Chinese lung cancer diagnosis and treatment ecosystem, and provide innovative pathological diagnosis products and services to rare targets of lung cancer, empower the improvement of individualized and precise diagnosis and treatment levels, and help realize the vision of " Healthy China 2030".
01 "Healing" shows hope of survival:
Lung cancer "chronic disease" becomes possible
China has reached 815,000 new lung cancer cases and 713,000 [1], ranking first among all malignant tumors. Among lung cancers, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common type of lung cancer, accounting for 85%-90% of all lung cancers, of which about 3%-7% of patients have ALK gene fusion. Professor Zhou Caicun , Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University, introduced: "The average age of patients with ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (ALK+NSCLC) is relatively low, and is accompanied by problems such as high risk of recurrence, high incidence of brain metastasis, and poor prognosis. The continuous advancement in precision medicine has allowed clinicians to win valuable life for patients with ALK+NSCLC. [2]"
In order to systematically analyze the current quality of life, treatment status and real needs of Chinese patients with ALK+NSCLC, China Professor Zhou Caicun, Chairman of the Lung Cancer Committee of the Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO), led the "2022 White Paper on Survey on the Survival Status of ALK-positive Patients with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer" (hereinafter referred to as " White Paper "). Based on the preliminary exploration in 2021, the project will expand the number of surveys to 3,085 patients in 2022, which is also the largest sample size of ALK+NSCLC patients in the world. Based on the dimensions of medical treatment journey, quality of life, drug accessibility, patient education and information acquisition, the survival status of ALK+NSCLC patients was comprehensively evaluated.

With the continuous emergence of targeted therapeutic drugs, the prognosis of patients with ALK+NSCLC has been significantly improved, and lung cancer may begin to show a "chronic disease". Professor Zhou Caicun introduced: "According to the preliminary analysis of the research results, the overall satisfaction of patients with ALK+NSCLC in the first-line treatment is high, and the second-generation ALK-TKI (aletinib) is the first in the satisfaction assessment. When we make drug selection, we should fully consider the patient's long-term survival background. It is our goal to bring a better life to the patient."
02 Identify "diamond" mutations:
"See" every "rare"
precision medicine, testing is the first. Defining the molecular typing of lung cancer through pathological diagnosis is a prerequisite for targeted NSCLC therapy. Therefore, it is of great clinical significance to choose accurate, fast and reliable detection methods to accurately identify targeted people who are suitable for targeted drugs, especially NSCLC people with rare "diamond" mutations.
In order to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of ALK test results, it helps the clinical practice to be more targeted when applying targeted drugs, and it is urgent to promote the standardization of ALK tests. In the current clinical application in my country, the ALK detection methods at the diagnostic level of NSCLC are mainly immunohistochemistry (IHC), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), instant fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and second-generation sequencing (NGS). Roche Diagnostic VENTANA ALK (D5F3) IHC test has obvious advantages such as economical, rapid, easy to carry out, easy to interpret, and sufficient clinical trial verification. "China's Expert Consensus on Clinical Practice of ALK Testing of Non-small Cell Lung Cancer" strongly recommends priority use of VENTANA ALK (D5F3) IHC for ALK testing.
research and clinical practice have proved that VENTANA ALK (D5F3) IHC testing can effectively help the accurate identification of ALK-positive NSCLC patients, maximize the number of patients with "diamond" mutations that may improve the outcome, so that every "rare" mutation patient can be "see" and benefit from targeted treatment.
03 Gathering advantages of all parties:
Create an innovative Chinese lung cancer ecosystem
In order to comprehensively improve the diagnosis and treatment level of NSCLC rare targets in various regions and promote homogeneous diagnosis and treatment of regions at all levels, at this CIIE, Roche Diagnosis and Roche Pharmaceuticals combined with Pan-Gene Gene Technology, BGI , Jinyu Medicine, Jiyinjia , Ranshi Medical , to Ben Medical Technology , and Zhenhe Technology, and jointly established the "Lung Cancer Rare Target Ecological Alliance". All parties will strengthen cooperation in the fields of improving the standardized diagnosis and treatment of rare targets for lung cancer and patient education, aiming to focus on exploring innovative medical solutions, jointly helping to build a local medical innovation ecosystem and benefit Chinese patients.

Roche Pharmaceuticals Bian Xin said: "This year is the fifth year that Roche has participated in the CIIE, and it is also the year when we have achieved many important milestones in the field of lung cancer. In the future, Roche will continue to adhere to the concept of "going first with the needs of patients", work together with partners from all walks of life, and in an open and win-win attitude, it will help the chronic disease process of lung cancer, so that more Chinese lung cancer patients can benefit comprehensively and effectively, and achieve a "Healthy China 2030 as soon as possible ’The grand vision.” ”
Mr. Yao Guoliang, general manager of Luoche Diagnostics China, said: “Roche has always been committed to taking practical actions, integrating the advantages of pharmaceuticals and diagnosis, and continuing to implement its long-term commitment to the Chinese market. We hope that through the establishment of this alliance, we will innovate and focus our efforts and complement each other, improve the accessibility of high-quality diagnostic solutions in the Chinese market, jointly build an innovative individualized and precise diagnosis and treatment ecosystem for Chinese lung cancer, improve the level of accurate diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer in China, and benefit more Chinese patients.”
