Intestinal cancer is a common digestive system tumor. Today, from the perspective of patients, I will listen to the stories of the two patients: How did they diagnose the tumor? What treatments did you receive after your diagnosis? How is it recovering now?

Patient 1:

I am 62 years old, from Beijing, retired from a state-owned enterprise. In 2019, the unit found that the occult blood test was positive during the body examination, so he hurried to the Navy Hospital for examination and was finally diagnosed with colorectal cancer. I was very surprised to learn about this news because I didn’t feel anything at that time, but I lost a lot of weight and had abnormal bowel movements, so I was particularly surprised to find out that it was cancer.

After diagnosis, I went directly to Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences for surgery. It was late July 2019. Because I believe in traditional Chinese medicine very much. After all, traditional Chinese medicine is our national treasure. After being discharged from the hospital, I thought about adjusting traditional Chinese medicine. After consulting and introducing by friends from many parties, I visited Professor Li Zhong for treatment.

It’s like this. I have been taking the traditional Chinese medicine prescribed by Director Li from August 2019 to the present. I have never stopped and the annual review indicators are normal. Now, in addition to taking Chinese medicine, I also insist on exercising and adjusting my mentality. I believe I will always maintain this state and get better and better.

Patient 2:

Before 2014, my husband often told me that his stomach was not very comfortable: it was uncomfortable to get the cool breeze, and it was not comfortable to eat when it was not suitable for the appetite. The most serious time he said he was bleeding from hemorrhoids. But none of these symptoms attracted our attention. We always thought it was because of his poor physical condition, so we did not go to treatment and just rested.

Until the winter of 2014, he had a stomachache. After going to the clinic for examination, he said it was appendicitis , so we went to county hospital for appendicitis. We also know the doctors. Everyone was relaxed and didn't take them seriously. They thought they were appendicitis and could be done with an operation. Unexpectedly, a small "appendicle" surgery lasted for three or four hours. It turned out that during the operation, he found a tumor on colon , and was finally diagnosed with colon cancer ! One month after the operation of

, the road to chemotherapy to the provincial capital was started. After going to the provincial capital, the doctor said that his illness was at a high risk and was worried that the county hospital would not be clean to remove the resection, so he suggested another removal surgery. But my husband was in poor health at that time, only more than 110 pounds, and was very thin. He was afraid that he could not stand the trouble, so he discussed not to have a second operation.

Chemotherapy once every 21 days, and chemotherapy was performed 12 consecutive times. After chemotherapy, pay attention to supplementing nutrition, actively exercise, and keep a stable mind. Now my husband is no different from other people. He has returned to work and has gained weight.

I want to tell you: Don’t be afraid if you have cancer. Treat traditional Chinese and Western medicine in combination. The family has a good attitude. Even cancer will be afraid of us. I hope every patient will have a perfect result.

Li Zhong has something to say:

From these two examples, both patients had some discomfort symptoms before the diagnosis: one lost weight, had abnormal bowel movements, the other patient had frequent stomach pain, and had bloody stools , but he did not go to the hospital for examination when the symptoms appeared, so he missed the opportunity for early detection and early treatment. This also tells us that if we find that abnormal symptoms suddenly appear in the body and have not improved for a long time, we must go to the hospital for examination in time, and have early detection and early treatment.

Another thing these two patients do is: maintain good living and eating habits during the recovery period, insist on exercising, and have a relatively optimistic attitude. The two patients recovered well, and treatment was on the one hand, while the changes in their own adverse living factors were on the other hand.

I hope that the treatment of these two patients with bowel cancer can give other cancer patients some inspiration or warning.
