1. Why is prostate cancer difficult to detect in the early stage?
Prostate cancer does not have specific clinical manifestations in the early stage. It is often the same as the symptoms of prostate hyperplasia, which is manifested as difficulty in urination, so it is difficult to attract the attention of patients.
According to statistics, the proportion of patients who have reached the advanced stage when prostate cancer is discovered in my country is as high as 70%. Why is this happening?
Early detection of prostate cancer depends on early screening of tumors. However, in my country, early screening of tumors has not yet attracted enough attention. The reasons are as follows:
1. The overall health awareness and physical examination awareness of Chinese residents are not strong. There is no regular physical examination, which has led to many early prostate cancers not being discovered.
2. my country also has no understanding of early screening for prostate cancer in , and early screening of prostate cancer (such as PSA assay) can detect many early stage prostate cancers.
3. my country's urban and rural medical level is unbalanced , and the medical technology in some places is relatively backward. Even if a healthy physical examination is performed, the tumor may not be detected.
Based on the above situation, prostate cancer is difficult to be detected in time in the early stage. Therefore, men should improve their health awareness, achieve early detection and early treatment, and prevent prostate cancer from progressing to advanced stage when it is discovered.
2. What are the treatments for advanced prostate cancer?
There is no need to be pessimistic and negative when suffering from prostate cancer. You can actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment plan based on your own actual situation, and the long-term efficacy is optimistic.
The methods of advanced prostate cancer treatment are divided into surgical treatment, endocrine therapy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy . If patients with advanced prostate cancer are in good physical condition, the range of cancer cells spreading too much, and the patient's life expectancy is long, surgical treatment can be chosen - surgical radical resection.
The purpose of the surgical radical resection is to to remove the prostate, eradicate the tumor, and prevent the cancer from spreading . The procedures for radical prostate cancer surgery include traditional open surgery, namely, surgery from an abdominal incision, laparoscopic surgery with less bleeding and less trauma, as well as robotic surgery that is currently expensive and has not been widely used yet.
For patients with advanced prostate cancer who lose their chance of surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy can be selected based on endocrine therapy. Endocrine therapy is the basic treatment for advanced prostate cancer. Prostate cancer cells need to rely on androgens in the human body. Endocrine therapy refers to the treatment methods that remove androgens in the human body and inhibit androgen activity. There are mainly two types of drugs:
① oral anti-androgen drugs : such as bicalutamide , abiraterone , etc. These drugs can fight against androgens in the body;
② Injection : such as Norred, etc., can inhibit the synthesis of androgens in the body. These 2 drugs can quickly block the nutrients (androgens) of prostate cancer cells, thereby "starving" cancer cells.
Endocrine drug treatment is the basic of prostate cancer drug treatment. Doctors adjusting the type of drugs in a timely manner according to the progress of the patient's condition can well control tumor progression and have a high survival rate.
For "starved" cancer cells, chemotherapy can be used. Chemotherapy can kill residual cancer cells and prevent the spread of prostate cancer cells. Chemotherapy can be performed alone or in combination with surgery. Through chemotherapy, the remaining cancer cells after surgical removal can be killed, thereby reducing the recurrence of cancer.
Radiotherapy is also an important treatment method for prostate cancer and can be used at any time of prostate cancer. The purpose of advanced prostate cancer radiotherapy is mainly to relieve bone pain and kill prostate cancer cells locally.

11 ① External irradiation treatment : refers to the local irradiation of the prostate in the human pelvic cavity outside the body through a linear accelerator, thereby achieving the purpose of radical curing prostate cancer. External irradiation therapy is a non-invasive operation, and the operation technology is relatively simple;
②Close irradiation therapy : It is to implant radioactive particles into prostate tumors by puncture, which is an internal irradiation radiation therapy. Close-range radiation therapy is an invasive operation, and the surgical technique is relatively complex.
