The professor's laboratory study examines how motivation, emotions, and cognition affect decision-making and healthy behaviors throughout the life cycle .
Their research is the intersection of multiple subfields of psychology, neuroscience and economics, including human development, emotional science, cognitive neuroscience, behavioral economics, and consumer finance. The professor used a combination of behavioral and neuroimaging techniques to conduct detailed measurements of functional brain activity (fMRI) and neural receptors (PET) in the laboratory, measuring tools from sampling measurements of experience and behavior in daily life, to wearable measurements of physical activity and sleep, and real-world financial management measurements.
The goal of Professor Translational Research is to use basic science tools to make discovery that can inform the development of interventions, products or services, thereby improving health and well-being throughout the life cycle. In the classroom, he teaches quantitative research methods and statistics, the application of neuroscience research in daily life, and evidence-based curriculum design in higher education.

Research direction Research Interests
Option 1
This course explores cognitive and neural processes that support attention, vision, language, motion control, navigation and memory.
It introduces basic neuroanatomy , functional imaging techniques, and cognitive behavioral measurements, and discusses methods for inferring the brain basis of cognition. We considered data gaps in patients with neurological diseases ( Alzheimer's disease , Parkinson's disease , Huntington's disease , Bahrain syndrome, amnesia, and stroke localized lesions) and normal human participants.
Option 2
This course is a comprehensive introductory course for neuroscience. The basic principles of tissue and function of nervous system will be discussed and reference pathophysiology of for neurological and mental illnesses.
course will cover modern neuroscience, from molecular neurobiology to perception and cognition, including the following main topics: anatomy and development of the
brain;
neurons and glial cells biology;
ion channels and electrical signals;
synaptic transmission, integration and chemical system of the brain;
sensory system from transduction to perception;
motor system; and higher brain functions (memory, language, and affective disorders).
Option 3
This course provides practical introduction to statistical concepts and methods in psychology. This course will emphasize the conceptual understanding of statistical techniques and their applicability to relevant research issues in psychological research and related sciences. After this course, students will be able to:
· Critical evaluation of statistical requirements put forward by others,
· Analyze their own data
· Explain their own statistical results.
This is not a math class. The focus is on developing quantitative reasoning skills and using statistics as a tool for evaluating data. There are almost no solution to the problem of handwriting. Homework and exams will focus on using software to analyze data and interpret results. This is a practical course for students to analyze and interpret weekly under the guidance of professors and teaching assistants.
