Psychologist: Depression, a cold in the mind, see how terrible it is

We hear the word depression a lot, but few really understand it.

A lot of people say to their depressed friends, "Who can I get you to show you a sad face every day? You'll get sick just by playing less for a few days. When people are in their rooms every day, their lives are much better than they are." You're more miserable. If you want to be content, sometimes I'm down. If you want to be public, that's okay." But is it really that simple?

Depression is different from the temporary depression that occasionally occurs in the United States. This is a disease that needs treatment. So far, the cause has not been fully understood. It is caused by a variety of factors such as heredity, neurobiochemistry, endocrine, psychology, and social environment.

Of course, you can also think that this is a kind of "heart" cold. The World Health Organization once released a set of data that more than 350 million people in the world suffer from depression, and two-thirds of them have suicidal thoughts. As of 2017, more than 54 million people in China suffered from depression, and now that number is only going to be more.

The most common symptoms of depression

First, long-term depression lasts at least two weeks. Forget the feeling of happiness, depressed every day, often inexplicable tears, not interested in anything, do not want to do things, do not want to contact people, do not want to go out. As the disease worsens, the patient will feel that life does not feel like death, and eventually develop suicidal tendencies. This depression is endogenous and has nothing to do with what's going on in your life.

Second, anxiety. 70% of patients with depression will be anxious, irritable, fearful, and easily agitated or even angry.

Third, the decline of thinking. Prolonged mental fatigue can lead to cognitive impairment, and people with mild depression can experience slow thinking, slow speech, poor memory, and inability to concentrate. Some patients lose the basic concept of personal hygiene, and the brain is like a membrane covered, making it difficult to do creative work. People with major depressive disorder cannot even communicate well with others.

Fourth, negative emotions. No matter what happens, always show pessimism, often feel self-blame and inferiority, feel unable to feel their worth, and feel guilty for those around them.

Fifth, sleep disorders. People with depression often wake up two or three hours earlier than usual and have trouble falling asleep after waking up. Most patients are at their worst at night and have suicidal thoughts. Mood improves after noon or evening, and the opposite is true for psychopaths.

Sixth, loss of appetite. 70% of people with depression will lose their appetite, and eating as a process, even people with major depression will lose their appetite.

The above six categories are the most common symptoms of depression. Even more frightening is that as depression progresses, the patient's immune system is also affected.

Therefore, when we discover that we are prone to depression, we must go to the hospital for diagnosis. If you have friends or relatives who testify that you have depression, try to get to know them. Don't think they're too sentimental, don't try to stay away from them, and don't think it doesn't matter if you're depressed. In fact, very few of them can feel the pain and struggle of inner despair.

At this point, the understanding, attention and companionship of others may be their only hope of persevering. If you realize you have the above symptoms, try not to shut yourself off and try to communicate. Go and express your feelings to your family and tell them that you may be sick and need to see a doctor.

In many songs about depression, many of the comments are about their own experiences. While it's hard to feel the same way, we know it must be bad.I just hope that all depressed people can cheer up. You still have a long way to go. You have to work hard to overcome this difficulty, dispel the haze, and every ray of sunshine will shine on you.

If you are prone to depression or your relatives or friends are prone to depression, you must go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment in time. Depression is a disease. When choosing a hospital, you must choose specialists who are specially trained.

If you suffer from depression, you should learn to relax, watch some sand sculptures, read some interesting books, take care of your sleep and personal emotions, cry when you want to cry, and shout when you want to fight. Don't hold bad emotions in your heart. A happy life is the most important thing.
