In order to further improve the information literacy and business skills of library personnel, on the afternoon of November 16, the Changzhou Library Society held a special training on "Information Retrieval and Utilization" in the lecture hall on the seventh floor of the city's library. More than 80 librarians from public libraries at all levels in the city participated in the training.
Literature information has always been a valuable resource that readers cannot do without in their learning, scientific research and work. How to help readers search and obtain information resources efficiently is a skill that every librarian should master. This event specially invited Li Gang, director of Changtu Society and associate research librarian of Changzhou Institute of Technology, to give a lecture on the spot. Teacher Li Gang is currently the director of the Science and Technology Innovation Department of the Library of Changzhou Institute of Technology. He has rich theoretical knowledge and many years of practical experience in the field of information retrieval. Li Gang first combined the consulting problems encountered by trainees in actual work, and used search tools such as Baidu and CNKI to demonstrate cases to guide everyone to correctly understand information retrieval. Afterwards, he started from the theoretical knowledge of information literacy, disassembled the four links of information awareness, information retrieval, search examples, and literature sorting, and systematically introduced the information retrieval from shallow to deep. Li Gang emphasized: "The ultimate goal of information retrieval is to find the useful information needed by users, and the timeliness, accuracy and comprehensiveness of the search results cannot be ignored."
With the rapid growth and dissemination of information, future information consulting work has put forward higher requirements for librarians. This training activity aims to promote action with knowledge and continue to play a good role in connecting the past and future of the library in the field of human knowledge dissemination.
