30 years ago, after my mother retired from her education position, she lived with her father in Beijing Xincun, Huai'an City, and spent her old age in peace. Both old people enjoyed retirement benefits. In addition to some health factors, their lives were satisfied and calm.
Suddenly one day, someone knocked on the door. My mother opened the door and saw that it was a strange middle-aged man.
"Are you Teacher Wang?"
"Yes!" The mother looked surprised.
Since a stranger knew him, he let him enter the house.
"Teacher Wang, I am your student more than 40 years ago, I finally found you!" The visitor said excitedly with relief.
"How did you find this place?"
"It's really not easy to find you! I heard that you were later transferred to Yugou Town, Huaiyin District to work. I found the school. The school said that you lived in Huaiyin city after retirement. The specific place of residence was unknown. I was very disappointed after hearing this. Later, a teacher in the school said that your wife worked in Huai'an Daily and found the newspaper again." The person who came said endlessly.
Then my mother realized that the person who came was a student who taught at Yangdian Primary School in the suburbs of Shuyang. Unexpectedly, when he was middle-aged, he still remembered that Teacher Wang, who once taught and educated, actually rushed from Shuyang to Huaiyin to find the teacher who had been in the past and came to thank him.
In the 1960s, my mother taught at Yangdian Primary School, Chengjiao Commune, Shuyang. This middle-aged man was a student she once taught. During school, he didn't go home at noon and brought his own corn bun. His mother roasted the students on the stove and then boiled some boiling water for them to drink.
As the saying goes, a drop of water should be repaid with a spring of water. Although it is insignificant to use the stove to bake buns and drink some hot water, this classmate remembers it in his heart and still never forgets to be grateful to the teacher back then when he is middle-aged.
My mother didn't expect that it had been decades since the classmate came to Huaiyin from Shuyang and searched for the teacher to meet his mother who taught him back then.
"I will be grateful to Teacher Wang, if I don't thank Teacher Wang, I will always be uneasy!"
This student still remembers the son of Teacher Wang's boy, and later went to see Teacher Wang's child who worked in Shuyang.
