  At the of the Western Han Dynasty, Zhangjun was changed to Danyangjun . Tongling area belongs to Chungu County, Danyang County and Lingyang County . During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Tongguan Town (in today's Tongling County) was established.
  During the Three Kingdoms period, the Tongling area belonged to Chungu County and Lincheng County, Danyang County, Wu State.
   During the Western Jin period, Tongling area belonged to Chungu and Lincheng counties of Xuancheng County. Hikong During the Yixi period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (405-418), due to wars in the north, a large number of refugees from Shanxi entered this place, and Dingling County was established here, and the county seat was located in the present Shun'an Town . The establishment of Dingling County has generally determined the area of ​​Tongling area today.

   Early Tang Dynasty , Tongling belonged to Nanling County, Xuancheng County; in the late Tang Dynasty, Gongshan, Anding, Fengtai, Guihua and Fengzi Townships were divided from Nanling, and Yi'an County was set up. The county was in Shun'an Town, which belonged to Xuanzhou. The fifth dynasty period is still Yi'an County, Xuanzhou.
   Hiang In the ninth year of Baoda (951), Yi'an County was changed to Tongling County, which belonged to Shengzhou. After Tongling County was established, the county seat was moved from Shun'an Town to Tongguan Town (now Chengguan Town, Tongling County), which was called Jianghu at that time.
    In the seventh year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty (974), Cao Bin attacked the Southern Tang Dynasty and conquered Tongling County in the intercalary October. It was originally belonged to Jiangnan Road (Road), and later changed to ​​Chizhou, Jiangnan East Road.

 In the early Qing Dynasty, Tongling County was under the Chizhou Prefecture, the Left Administration Commissioner of Jiangnan; later the Left Administration Commissioner of Jiangnan was changed to Jiangnan Province . In the first year of Kangxi (1662), Jiangnan Province was divided into two provinces: Jiangsu and Anhui Province. Tongling County belonged to Chizhou Prefecture, Anhui Province. Later, it was established with Huining Chi Taiguang Road , and Chizhou Prefecture belonged to it.
  In January of the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the prefecture was abolished and Tongling County was directly under Anhui Province. From June 1914 to August 1928, it belonged to Wuhu Road, Anhui Province. It belongs to the second special zone after October 1932. On August 6, 1938, it was changed to the Eighth Special Office until the eve of liberation.
  On April 21, 1949, Tongling was liberated. On May 13 of the same year, it was transferred to the jurisdiction of Chizhou District, the Southern Anhui Administration.
  On February 4, 1952, after the merger of the Southern Anhui and Northern Anhui Administrations, Tongling County was affiliated with the Anqing Special Zone.
  (III) Tongling City Period
  On October 12, 1956, Tongguanshan City was established with the approval of the State Council, which is directly under the provincial jurisdiction.
  On September 5, 1958, with the approval of the State Council, the establishment of Tongling County was abolished, and the cities and counties were merged, and they were renamed Tongling City, which was directly under the provincial jurisdiction.
  On April 3, 1959, with the approval of the State Council, the Tongling City system was retained and still under the provincial jurisdiction; the Tongling County system was restored and belonged to the Anqing Special Zone.
  On July 29, 1964, with the approval of the State Council, Tongling City was changed to Tongling Special Zone, implementing the integration of government and enterprise, and is directly under the provincial government.
  On December 11, 1971, with the approval of the State Council, Tongling Special Zone was changed to Tongling City, which is directly under the provincial jurisdiction and is currently the smallest prefecture-level city in my country.
  On November 8, 1974, Tongling County was placed under the jurisdiction of Tongling City.
