Windows 11 2022 Update received the first optional update KB5017389, bringing a lot of improvements. This optional update is being launched through Windows Update, but users can also download the installation package through Windows Update Catalog to manually update it.
KB5017389 is not a forced update for the Windows 11 22H2 update, but it is the first optional patch that contains a lot of bug fixes. This patch can only be installed on Windows 11 Version 22H2 (version 21H2 or original Windows 11 does not support updates released for version 22H2).
This update appears as "2022-09 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5017389)" and upgrades the system to Build 22621.608. To download and install it, simply click the Download button under the Optional Updates section of Windows Update.
Windows 11 Build 22621.608 Added more dynamic widget content to the taskbar, a feature called "Notification Badge". The notification flag alerts the user when there is an unread alert in the widget.
