Remember Honda’s 2040 Zero Emissions Plan? To further achieve this goal, Honda has just announced that by 2030, 15% of its motorcycle sales, 30% of its car sales, and 36% of its power product sales will be electrified.

As Honda itself points out elsewhere in this report, that’s a tall order. It is now July 2022, and in each of the above categories, the sales proportion of electrified products this year is quite low.

According to Honda's own report, in 2022, only 0.01% of its motorcycle sales will be electric, electric vehicle sales will account for about 0.37% of its total car sales, and electric product sales will account for about 0.52% of its total sales.

Honda has also set a very high goal on sustainability issues, that is, reducing the number of traffic accident deaths involving Honda cars to zero by 2050. Although it is still not certain whether this goal can be achieved, it is still very good to have such a plan.

Honda also mentioned in the report the Connected Motorcycle Consortium (CMC), which has been collecting and analyzing data on motorcycle crashes. Honda said that in fiscal 2023, the alliance will draw on lessons learned and propose concrete solutions to prevent motorcycle collisions.
