1. What is a military family member: Refers to the immediate blood relatives, spouses, and younger siblings under the age of 16 who depend on active military personnel, or other relatives of military personnel who have grown up on them and now must depend on military personnel.

2. What is a veteran: refers to a soldier who has retired from active service (demobilized soldier, demobilized soldier, veteran, etc.).

1. Demobilized soldiers: refers to those who are directly transferred from the army to the local area and are called demobilized soldiers. Soldiers must meet certain conditions before they can choose to change jobs. Ordinary conscripts and low-level non-commissioned officers are not transferred. Only mid-level and above non-commissioned officers and military officers have the option of conversion, that is, non-commissioned officers and military officers and civilian cadres above the third term.

2, demobilized soldier : refers to the participation in the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army, the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces, the Chinese Communist Party’s full-time guerrillas, the Eighth Route Army, the New Fourth Army, the People’s Liberation Army, the Chinese People’s Volunteers, etc. before the trial of compulsory military service began on October 31, 1954. Demobilized, veteran certificate, or demobilized personnel approved by the organization. The separated Red Army personnel in the township are also treated as demobilized soldiers. (Persons who joined the army before October 31, 1954 and were later approved to be demobilized from the army).

3, veterans: refer to those who joined the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (including the Chinese People’s Armed Police Force) after November 1, 1954, and hold certificates of demobilized or demobilized soldiers. Former members of the army are eligible to enjoy the benefits or privileges stipulated by the Veterans Law according to the length of service, type of service, honorary retirement or dismissal from active service, or disability level according to the law. After the promulgation of the "Military Service Law" on November 1, 1954, sergeants and soldiers enlisted for service in accordance with the "Military Service Law" shall be called veterans if they have been approved to retire from the army and hold a veteran certificate.

The special care placement policy refers to a social security system that the state provides preferential treatment, compensation, and placement to special workers and their families, such as military personnel and their relatives.
