[Myanmar Chinese Net News] In northern Shan State, in the early morning of March 15, fighting broke out between the local militia and the Deang Army (TNLA) in five villages in the Nankan county jurisdiction. According to local people, the conflict caused two deaths.
The five villages where the war broke out are Manmai Village, Xiaogonggan Village, Liguan Village, and Banse Village. A person in charge of the
Banse Youth Information Propaganda Group said that at about 4 am on the 15th, the Deang Army launched an attack on the five villages mentioned above.
1 local people said that conflicts broke out in 5 villages at the same time. The attacked militia group fought back, and the fighting was fierce.
At around 11 noon on March 15, the Banse Youth Information Propaganda Group stated that it has now lost contact with the village where the war broke out, and the situation of the villagers in the village is unknown.
An official from the relevant department of Muse City said that he had heard of the outbreak of war, but the details are still under investigation.
Deang Army TNLA spokesperson Da Aijue said that the outbreak of fighting in Nankan area is true, but TNLA is not attacking civilians, but attacking the camp of the Banse militia. They also claim that opium poppies are grown in these areas, and their attacks are for drug control.
