Since the end of World War II , Japan has never forgotten to rise again to become a military power. In order to realize its dream of a great power, Japan has repeatedly relied on the United States to point fingers at our internal affairs, trying to gain US military loosening on this ground and gain strategic autonomy in one fell swoop. According to Japanese media reports recently, Kishida Fumio said, "Stability and peace in the Taiwan Strait are directly related to regional security."
Previously, Kishida also expressed his hope to meet with high-level Chinese leaders at the G20 summit . There is no doubt that Kishida's above statement is not conducive to the high-level meeting between China and Japan, and instead makes Sino-Japanese relations tense. So, Kishida has the motivation to play the Taiwan Strait card again? First, Kishida intends to "sacrifice" to the United States in exchange for greater strategic trust from the United States. At the Phnom Penh summit held a few days ago, Biden met with Kishida and Yoon Seok-yeol , and said that it would provide nuclear weapons to Japan and South Korea. This move has inspired Kishida. Once Japan obtains nuclear weapons, it will gain the strategic confidence to be on par with China, the United States and Russia. Kishida certainly repaid his favor in order to repay the "kindness" of the United States. Using the Taiwan issue to provoke trouble will undoubtedly cooperate with the United States to encircle China and win the trust of the United States.
Secondly, Japan intends to intervene in the conflict in the Taiwan Strait, hoping to get rid of the United States in one fell swoop and control military command. According to a domestic poll in Japan, 22% of people "approve" the US-Japan intervention in the conflict in the Taiwan Strait, while most people "oppose". Japan's military modernization has developed rapidly over the years, and its military strength ranks among the top in the world, and is not weaker than any European power at all. The United States attaches more and more importance to Japan, hoping that Japan will become its important vanguard in encirclement of China. Japan hopes that the Taiwan Strait War will break out. In that case, the United States will "release" and Japan will control military command and completely achieve strategic independence.
The question is, does Japan have the ability to intervene in the war in the Taiwan Strait? Not long ago, the People's Liberation Army used Pelosi to "surround Taiwan military exercises". The Japanese and American warships next door fled, and they did not dare to "fight head-on". If Japan really intervened in the conflict in the Taiwan Strait, the first one would be hit by the People's Liberation Army's iron fist.
Furthermore, Sino-Japanese relations are not as good as we expected. Japan has always been hostile to us. Today, China has surpassed Japan and became the second largest economy in the world. Like the United States, Japan actually does not want China to rise, but China has maintained economic growth so far and is on the trend of catching up with the United States. From the end of World War II to the present, Japan has never thought that it was defeated by China. Japan only respects the strong and does not express gratitude for our tolerance. Therefore, on the one hand, it is jealous of China's development too fast, and on the other hand, it is definitely not as friendly as we think. Sino-Japanese relations will still be affected by geopolitical competition, and Japan will follow the United States to surround us.
As a neighbor, Japan should interact with us on the basis of respecting us, rather than confronting us under the agitation of the United States, and cannot interfere in internal affairs of our country. Taiwan has been China since ancient times, and China does not allow any force to intervene. If Japan wants to give it a try, it must consider its strength. China was not more than a hundred years ago, and it was able to maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and achieve the reunification of the motherland.
