310 The southeast direction of the highland is a wide area of more than 1 square kilometer at the bottom of the mountain. Highway 3 passes through the open area, turns right in front of a small village, passes through three or four small villages and several bamboo forests, and goes straight to He'an County.
302 Highland is on the right side of the highway, and Highland 315 is located on the left side of the highway, very close to He'an, and is also another important barrier outside the command post of the enemy's 346th Division. 1, encircled the enemy 346th Division
17 at 12:00 on the 317th, the 5th Company of the 2nd Battalion of the 367th Regiment, took the vanguard of tanks, and took the 5th Company of the 2nd Battalion of the 367th Regiment after two fierce competitions. On February 20, the 369th Regiment organized a strong attack on the 310th Highland. Seeing that the situation was not good, the enemy deputy commander ordered a platoon to be a cover as a scapegoat and led the other troops to escape. After half a day of bloody battle, the 369th Regiment's 3rd Battalion finally captured the top of the 310th Highland. 2, 346th Division Command Post
346th Division Command Post is located in Nahuai area 5 kilometers northwest of He'an County. It is surrounded by mountains and shaped like a basin with an area of about 4 square kilometers. There are 7 independent stone mountains in the Nahuai area, each of which is raised up on the flat ground and is not connected to each other. The stone mountain is steep, with many caves and bushes, making it easy to hide.
There are water grid rice fields between each stone mountain, which are flat and open; the stone mountain is supported by each other, making it easy to defend but difficult to attack. The highlands in the combat area are classified into Heights No. 1 to 12, and Heights No. 10 are in the center. The highland is north-south and has 3 peaks. There is a cave running east and west in the north of the second peak, which is 30 meters high, 45 meters wide and 80 meters long. After additional repairs, it can be used to garrison troops and store grain, and the car can directly enter the cave. There is a simple east-west highway on the north side of the Highland No. 310, which connects with Gao (Ping) Shuo (Jiang) Highway from the east side of the Highland 355 to the south, making the transportation more convenient. There is a small river flowing east-west in the north of Huai Village, which can be trampled.
Nahuai area is an important military and communication base in the north of Vietnam , and is also the location of Vietnam Central Radio No. 2. In the late 1960s, the Vietnamese people's struggle to fight the United States entered its climax and most difficult period, and the Soviet Union helped build this radio station. Its function is that if Hanoi is blown up by the United States, it can become the command center for the Vietnamese people to fight against the American invaders.
In addition to the radio station, it also has large military communication stations, communication schools, armorys, ammunition databases, military supplies warehouses, oil warehouses, mine warehouses, power plants, and mechanics factories.
Among them, there are large communication equipment in the cave of the highland No. 10, and there are three large generators at the entrances of the east and west holes. There is an oil depot and a mechanic factory outside the cave on the east side, a pumping station outside the entrance of the west cave, and there are 42 antenna poles more than 30 meters high around the cave, and there are high-voltage conveying lines. On the east side of Donghan, there is a Vietnamese Military Communications School, guarded by more than 100 armed personnel.
According to pre-war and during war reports, the 346th Division of Vietnam led a strengthening company here. The enemy used stone caves and rock cracks to build fortifications, set up firepower points, and built trenches, traffic trenches and A-shaped fortifications in the earthen mountains.
has a large number of anti-infantry and anti-tank mines buried on the 1st and 2nd highways and on both sides. A crisscrossing firepower network formed between the caves, and the Vietnamese army attempted to defend it under the danger.
3. Attacking the enemy communication station
At 17:00 on February 25, when the 1st Battalion of the 367th Regiment captured the 311 Highland from the southwest side, it discovered a communication facility near the No. 10 Highland and judged that the enemy communication station was at the place.
At this time, the 123rd Division's former commander ordered the commander of the army:

367 Regiment 1st and 3rd companies were attacked from both sides of the No. 10 Highland. The battle failed to work for one hour. That night, it turned into defense at the 311 Highland and the nameless highland on both sides.
26 At 6:15 am on the 326th, the 1st Battalion (Under Artillery Company) of the 123rd Division was equipped with the 100th mortar company and the 82nd resilient artillery company, strengthening the 9th Company of the 369th Regiment and the 369th Regiment Artillery Company to be responsible for the combat mission of attacking the Nahuai area. The battalion commander determined the enemy situation in Highland No. 1 and asked for artillery fire support. The artillery company commander said that the position number was not clear and he could not shoot. The enemy of the Heights No. 31 counterattacked from the foot of the mountain on the west side of the Heights No. 2 to the second row. The 2nd platoon killed four enemies with fierce fire and defeated the counterattack enemy. At this time, the enemy 2nd row of Heights No. 3 and No. 8 carried out cross-fire suppression, which was under fire attack on three sides.
Battalion said it required artillery fire support, but the artillery company still failed to implement fire support on the grounds that it was afraid of accidentally hurting its own people. The second platoon can only rely on the second trench to confront the hostilities.
The first platoon attacking in the direction of the 2nd platoon was covered by artillery fire and quickly advanced to the front line of the river through the open rice fields. The original plan was to attack Highland No. 8, because the highland ammunition depot was still exploding and could not be approached, they moved along the Xiaohe River to the west side of Highland No. 8.

At this point, the 3rd company killed 38 enemies, and the company also suffered more than 30 casualties. In the end, because the enemy was condescending and the terrain was not good for me, the main attack direction was frustrated.
4, again frustrated
1 Company (3 platoons) After I prepared the artillery fire, I set off from Domeng Mountain in order of 1 and 2, and attacked along Nahuai Village and Qianxiangcun Avenue to the east of the Wantunian Highland. When entered the front of the enemy's position, it was blocked by enemy firepower from the No. 8 and No. 12.Company commander Xia Guowen organized 60 mortars , 82 mortars, and heavy machine guns to suppress the enemy with firepower, and to cover the 1st platoon and quickly detoured to the right to occupy the foot of the mountain on the right side of the nameless highland.

13:30, the leader of the regiment saw that the above determination was not realized, so he ordered the 2nd Company of the Reserve Team to join the battle from the west side of Nahuai Village and attacked the east side of Highland No. 10.
2 Company was fighting against the nameless highlands before. Although the cadres and soldiers had been clearing away the remaining enemies for five consecutive days in the wind and rain, they fought continuously regardless of their fatigue. They arrived at the foot of the planned Highland No. 3 mountain, and quickly approached the enemy in seclusion. After more than half an hour of fierce fighting, they killed 12 enemies, seized Highland No. 3, and cut off the entire enemy's defense position in half.

Battalion Company organized firepower to suppress the enemy many times but failed. At this point, all three companies of the 1st Battalion were in a confrontation with the enemy, and after another two hours of fierce battle, there was no progress. The leader of the 3rd Regiment believed that although the 1st Battalion had penetrated into the depth of the enemy's defense, it had no favorable terrain support. The troops suffered heavy casualties and could not get timely rescue from the rear and had no strong artillery support. Continuing the battle was not good for me. He was worried that the enemy would attack at night after dark. At 15:30, the battalion was ordered to withdraw from the battle under the cover of artillery fire.
3 withdraws from the 311 Highland at 17:00, and 1st Regiment from the 1st Regiment at 19:30. Because the second company did not withdraw, the first company advanced to Nahuai to cover the second company and retreated. At 21:30, the 2nd Company retreated to the attack and departing position. The company suffered 6 casualties during the attack and 21 casualties during the evacuation. After the troops retreated, they immediately entered night defense.
5. Organize the attack again
The enemy division headquarters took advantage of the opportunity of our 367th Regiment's 1st Battalion to withdraw from the battle, leaving behind a blocking team, and fled in the direction of the big night.
27 at 0:00 on the 327th, the division ordered the 3rd Battalion of the 369th Regiment (with 7th Company, strengthening 5th Company) to take over the mission of the 1st Battalion of the 367th Regiment, and with the fire support of the 130th Rocket Armor Battalion, 122th Howitzer Battalion and 85th Cannon Company, to attack and annihilate the enemy of Nahuai. After receiving the mission, the 33rd Battalion immediately organized the company commanders to study specific tactics and coordinated actions, organized the coordination of infantry and artillery, and formulate specific combat plans.
3 Battalion Determination:
concentrates the main forces and weapons, first annihilates the enemy defending from highlands 1 to 7, and then concentrates their strength to capture and annihilate the enemy defending from highlands 8 to 12. The 8th Company was also arranged as the main attack company, equipped with recoilless cannons and heavy machine guns, and occupied the offensive starting position at the southwest side of the No. 9 Highland and the south side of the unknown Highland, and attacked along the direction of Heights No. 1, 2 and 3. The second echelon of the Support Battalion joined the battle, and then developed an attack on Heights No. 7 and 11.
9 Company is equipped with 82 recoilless guns and a platoon of heavy machine guns. It will occupy the offensive starting position on the nameless high ground west of Highland No. 9. After the 8th Company seizes Highland No. 1, it will join the battle from the south side, attack on Highland No. 4, 5 and 6, and then turn to defense.
5 Company is the battalion reserve team, which is arranged in the nameless highland south of Highland No. 9. After the attack is launched, it follows the 8th Company, preparing to join the battle in Highland No. 3, and then participate in the battle to capture Highland No. 8, 9 and 10.

6, successfully occupying the command post of the enemy 346th Division
367 Regiment 1st Battalion continued to unfold from the line from Dome Mountain to Highland No. 311, attacking stubbornly in the east. Five artillery battalions and 85 cannon companies successively occupied the launch positions, and the battle started followed along the road.

At this time, the infantry began to advance according to the predetermined route. At 12:30, artillery fire extended to a depth and the infantry began to attack. Under the leadership of the deputy company commander, the 1st platoon of the
8 launched an attack on the No. 1 Highland. When approaching the enemy's frontier position, he accidentally stepped on a landmine and injured three people. The deputy company commander was injured and persisted in the fire. He led the 1st platoon to attack the main peak of Highland No. 1. At 12:35, he occupied the 1st Highland No. 1, killed two enemies, seized 1 heavy machine gun and 41 semi-automatic rifles.
8 Company 2nd Platoon attacked the No. 2 Highland, 6th Squad was covering the front, and 4th Squad detoured from the left side to the enemy, but was suppressed by the enemy's firepower and could not advance. The platoon leader commanded the 5th squad to join the battle from the right. 5 squad went around to the rear of the enemy, killed an enemy who was operating the directional minefield, cut off the wire that caused the lightning and quickly attacked the high ground. At this time, Squad 4 attracted and suppressed the enemy with firepower from the front and sent a soldier to bring the blasting tube , went around to the flank, blowing up the enemy's bunker, and occupying Highland No. 2. 2 platoon killed 7 enemies (one of them was an officer), seized 60 guns, 43 submachine guns, 2 rifles, 1 pistol, and 27 landmines. At 19:30, an enemy was found near the village on the northwest side, that is, shooting with light and heavy machine guns and fire, killing 12 enemies, and seizing 4 submachine guns.
5 Company joined the battle from Heights No. 3 at 15 o'clock and developed an attack on Heights No. 8 and No. 10. With the support of the 85 cannon fire, occupied Heights No. 8 within an hour and a half and instead attacked the Heights No. 10 tunnel.
In order to reduce casualties and make artillery firing more accurately, the 5th Company used firepower to cover the fire. The 7th Company of the Artillery Regiment braved the Vietnamese firepower on the three high grounds and pushed 6 85 cannons forward and exited more than 100 meters to the front of the infantry, spreading them 200 to 400 meters from the tunnel entrance, and used armor-piercing bombardment to bombard the tunnel violently, exploded the four safety structure tunnel entrances composed of iron gate, stone wall, red brick wall and mesh door, and eliminated the fire point at the entrance of the tunnel. 5 Company quickly attacked Highland No. 10, and organized firepower to control the tunnel entrance to cover officers and soldiers to search in the cave. 7. The enemy division commander "disappeared"
This tunnel command post is a transformed natural cave. It was originally the location of the backup launch platform of Gaoping Radio Station built by my country. The originally larger exit of the tunnel has been sealed with cement. The latter exit is relatively hidden, located in the southeast direction, and there is an exit facing the north. There is a control site of the division troops near the entrance of the cave in the north. In Nahangshe Village in the northwest, it is the garrison of the 346th Division propaganda team and a position of the 85th cannon company of the Vietnamese army, which has been captured by our army.
