The university said it already has enough satellite technology to meet the needs of the country and is ready to export the technology to other countries. Iran began research activities in the field of aerospace in the mid-1990s. Khayyam is the country's latest satellite launched into space by the Russian Soyuz from Kazakhstan's Baikonur Space Launch Site on August 9, aiming to monitor Iran's border environment and improve the country's management and planning for agriculture, natural resources, environmental issues, mining and natural disasters.
