NT136-PAS transceiver is designed to meet the difficult airborne requirements of law enforcement and public service/public safety groups for tactical AM and FM communications systems. The Tac/Com series of radio control heads provide a centralized location for tactical radio control of up to four transceiver systems, which can be NAT or other manufactured. A letter designation or identification of each radio channel, as well as a display of the receiving and transmitting frequencies, are provided to simplify pilot identification of the selected channel. Intended for aircraft use, these parts can also operate in vehicle applications (when special ordered), providing the same capabilities for communications vans, emergency scene coordination or surveillance. The

NT136-PAS transceiver has been added to the Tac/Com product line-up to support multi-mode AM and FM operation and narrowband reception, particularly in line with UK requirements for airborne law enforcement. The

NT series of transceivers have been optimized for full-featured operation across the entire Tac/Com system architecture and provide flexible operation over a wide range of radio frequencies.

Using a combination of serial and parallel tuning, NT transceivers provide a simple interconnect with powerful channel capabilities. The transceiver is also designed to support full FM encryption functionality of DES 1027, and the VGE format without modification Coded Bass Tone Suppression (CTCSS) and Digital Coded Suppression (CDCSS or DPL) encodings are also fully supported.

These fast-locking synthetic radios support various levels of scanning, such as "priority" and "list" formats. These modes can simulate the operation of multiple "protection" receivers under full operator control and can be changed in the system software (control head). The basic radio stores 32 frequencies in 2 pieces of non-volatile memory, any or all of which can be changed by the Tac/Com system control head according to the operator's needs. FM and AM scan modes are fully supported.
