According to a report by the Russian Satellite News Agency on the 25th, a survey commissioned by the Deutsche Presse-Agentur News Agency and conducted by the British public opinion polling agency YouGov showed that nearly half of the Germans opposed the provision of German-made "Leopard 2" tanks to Ukraine. The results of the
survey showed that 45% of the respondents opposed the delivery of such German tanks to Ukraine, while only 33% supported doing so, and another 22% of the respondents refused to answer.

This proportion differs among voters who support different political parties. Supporters of the German Green Party are more in favor of providing this type of tank to Ukraine, with 50% expressing support and only 25% opposing. Among the supporters of the other two parties in the ruling coalition, there are more people who oppose providing this type of tank to Ukraine than those who are in favor of doing so. Among them, 41% and 40% of supporters of the Social Democratic Party opposed and approved of it, and 42% and 33% of supporters of the Liberal Democratic Party opposed and approved of it.
Among voters who support the German opposition parties, the proportion of people who oppose providing the tank to Ukraine is even higher. Among CDU/CSU supporters, 43% are opposed and 38% are in favor. 52% of supporters of the Left Party are against it and 32% are in favor, while 76% of supporters of the Alternative for Germany are against it and only 13% are in favor.
Russian Satellite News Agency mentioned that in the past few months, German Chancellor Scholz repeatedly stated in response to requests for tanks and more weapons to Ukraine that Berlin would take action together with its allies rather than take unilateral action.
