According to CBS 22, the Special Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives responsible for investigating the Capitol riots released its final report on the 22nd local time, recommending that former U.S. President Trump be held criminally responsible for his actions in the Congressional riots.

Special Investigative Committee recommended that the U.S. Department of Justice file at least four criminal charges against Trump related to his alleged actions to obstruct the transfer of presidential power, including obstruction of official proceedings, conspiracy to defraud the federal government, conspiracy to make false statements, and inciting or assisting insurrection. Over the course of the investigation, the special committee held 10 public hearings, interviewed more than 1,000 witnesses, collected more than 1 million pages of materials, and issued subpoenas to Trump and some of his closest allies, but ultimately did not question Trump himself or former Vice President Pence.
The Special Investigative Committee recommended on the 19th of this month that the U.S. Department of Justice criminally prosecute Trump. After the proposal was passed, Trump issued a statement on his personal social platform, saying that members of the House of Representatives were trying to make false accusations against him. One of the purposes was to prevent him from running for president of the United States again and winning. These accusations were an attempt to marginalize him and the Republican Party.
