According to Dutch media reports, the Italian Ministry of Justice has prosecuted 51 people, accusing them of cooperating with the Mafia, including the wealthy Dutch businessman Marcel Boekhoorn. Together with Dutch investors Diedrik Oost and Philip Van Wijngaarden, he works for the investment company Ramphastos.
However, Marcel Boekhoorn said that the Italian allegations are simply absurd.
The wealthy Dutch businessman Marcel Boekhoorn became famous because he insisted on introducing giant pandas from China for several years and finally achieved his wish.
The District Attorney of Calabrië, Italy, said that they may be involved in money laundering.
In 2017, the investment company Ramphastos invested 2.5 million US dollars in the Italian startup Talenta Labs. Paolo Tavarelli, former Italian kickboxing champion, also participated in this investment.
Boekhoorn and Tavarelli met each other from the gambling company Sks365, which was founded by the boxer but was taken over by the investment company. However, according to the Italian judiciary, the gambling company has ties to the mafia.

As boxer Tavarelli worked hard to raise funds for Talenta Labs, Ramphastos paid for part of the acquisition. And Boekhoorn and its partners owed Tavarelli the money to buy the gambling company.
According to the Italian judiciary, Boekhoorn, Oost and Van Wijngaarden should not settle this amount because the gambling company is dealing with the mafia, and the cash flow around Sks365 will automatically be considered illegal.
This is not the first time Marcel Boekhoorn has encountered trouble. This summer, he was accused of corporate espionage by a former business partner.
