On December 28, local time, a shocking scene occurred at a light rail station in the United States. A Oregon woman pushed a 3-year-old child who was waiting with her mother off the platform without warning. Fortunately, a passerby rescued the child.

According to Observer Network Comprehensive Fox News Channel and "The Oregonian" website reports, the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office revealed that the 32-year-old suspect is homeless and faces one felony and multiple misdemeanor charges and is currently without bail.
The incident occurred at a light rail station in the northeastern part of Portland, Oregon, on December 28. After the incident, the relevant video attracted attention on social platforms and was viewed more than 820,000 times. Surveillance video showed that at the time of the incident, the suspect suddenly jumped up from the bench on the platform and pushed a girl standing in front of her. The child fell face down on the rails and stones. A 3-year-old girl suffered from red marks on her forehead and severe pain in her head. Fortunately, before the train entered the station, a male passerby rescued the child from the tracks.

Local prosecutors said the suspect was 32-year-old Brianna Lace Workman, who was accused of pushing a child face down onto the railroad tracks without reason. Workman was questioned in Multnomah County Circuit Court on December 29, local time. She was charged with a felony and multiple misdemeanors, including attempted first-degree assault, third-degree assault, obstructing public transportation, second-degree disorderly conduct, and reckless endangerment.
Court records show Workman is listed as homeless in Portland. Local prosecutors said Workman is being held without bail.
This incident once again aroused American netizens’ concerns about station safety. Some people believed that the suspect should be severely punished, while others reminded not to stand too close to the railway tracks. “Beside the railway tracks at a train station, hold your child’s hand tightly.”
