Since the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the international community's attitude towards this war has been mainly divided into two positions. One is the strong support of Ukraine represented by the United States and the West, and the other is the mainstream of the world today, namely the balanced faction.
. As time goes by, it has gradually become clear who is right and who is wrong in these two camps. Today, the speeches of Turkey President Erdogan and French President Macron prove this to the world.
First of all, Turkish President Erdogan said on the 22nd local time that Türkiye will not face any problems in importing natural gas from Russia this winter.
In addition, Erdogan made a clear statement this time, believing that Türkiye's balanced policy in the face of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is right and recognized by the whole world.
and also sarcastically stated that if Türkiye really follows critics, then their status quo will not be much better than Europeans.
In this way, Erdogan basically put the view that the innuendo EU is wrong to the point, and the most important thing is that he is right, it is difficult for the EU to have any reason to refute.
Because on the same day, French President Macron was still bombarding the United States for natural gas prices.
On October 21 local time, Macron once again stated at a press conference after the EU summit that the price of selling natural gas to Europe by the United States is several times that of domestic US, and this practice is completely double standard.
Macron believes that the United States has no sincerity in this move and will raise this question to them when he visits the United States in December.
It has to be said that Macron has expressed his dissatisfaction vividly in a very subtle way. He counted Macron’s two speeches from “unfriendly” to “double standards”, and the changes can be seen from the naked eye.
In fact, Macron is so anxious or angry, it is completely foreseeable that he is so anxious and angry. There are two reasons:
first, the United States is getting worse and he doesn't know how to converge. According to statistics, a ship of American liquefied natural gas , with a cost price of only more than US$60 million, soared directly to US$275 million when it was sold to Europe.
After Germany and France issued a round of statements, this situation has not changed at all. The United States has fully demonstrated its ugly face that can be regarded as Europe.
Second, the current situation in Europe is quite dangerous. According to the EU itself, their natural gas reserves are quite sufficient, with more than 85% of the reserves already.
So this will give the world an illusion that natural gas will not affect the EU too much, but the author can only say that we are all deceived by the EU's words.
On October 22 local time, the Portuguese Grid Corporation reported that their natural gas reserves had reached 100%, but that was only enough for them to use for less than a week.
And Portugal also said that this is the normal level for most countries, so it is not enough to rely on reserves now to survive this cold winter in European countries.
In this way, before winter comes, solving the EU's natural gas supply problem as soon as possible is undoubtedly the top priority of the EU. Therefore, France, as the big brother of the EU, will bombard the United States so urgently, hoping to reduce the price of natural gas.
But judging from the current situation, will the United States really be as Europe wishes? Even if the price is achieved, and the current four times the price is reduced to twice, isn’t the EU still the sucker?
So, since the Beixi natural gas pipeline leaked, the EU has lost both the initiative and the backhand on the issue of natural gas, and can only be controlled by others.
In the final analysis, it is a matter of attitude and position. Just compare Türkiye. In this Russian-Ukrainian conflict, its approach to balancing both sides has been perfect.
This not only received a very high international evaluation, but also in terms of practical interests, Türkiye has a precursor to becoming a replacement for the Nord Stream.
Because on the 19th, Erdogan said that Türkiye and Russia had reached an agreement on establishing a natural gas hub in Türkiye.
In other words, Türkiye will make a lot of money by simply making the difference between the middlemen, which is in sharp contrast to the tragic situation of the EU.
In short, it is inevitable that the EU will suffer a great loss this time, and the EU has also shown us a truth with personal experience: cooperation and peace are the mainstream and driving force of world development.
