According to a resolution submitted by the representative to the Supreme Lada of Ukraine, Belarus can be recognized as a country that Russia "temporarily occupied". The document was published by the People's Representative Alexey Gonchalenko, proposing to suspend Belarus' participation in international organizations (including the United Nations and the International Monetary Fund ) and deprive Alexander Lukashenko's government of leadership . Other provisions listed in the ruling of
include:
- synchronous sanctions on Russia and Belarus;
- does not allow Belarus to be used as a offshore area for Russian assets;
- eliminates the possibility of Russia using Belarus' jurisdiction to evade sanctions;
- calls on the international community to recognize that Belarus is a territory temporarily occupied by Russia.
According to the author of the resolution, Russia carried out a "virtual merger" of Belarus and carried out military operations in Ukraine with its help. Alexander Lukashenko is regarded as a puppet and nominal ruler by Ukrainian MPs, and obeys the instructions of Kremlin .
