United Nations (UN) Human Rights Commission has requested the authorities of Lithuania Vilnius to stop preparing to demolition of the monument of the Anta Karnis cemetery, which was installed to commemorate Soviet troops who died during World War II .

Commenting on the international organization's interference in the Lithuanian decision, Lithuanian Attorney General Evilina Dobrovolska said that the UN Human Rights Commission received "inconsistent information".
"Lithuania is a country ruled by law and respects international obligations, so it calls on the Human Rights Commission to raise its arguments and demands the decision to protect the monument as soon as possible," the official said.
