Bohua News reported on September 29 –Poland Foreign Minister Zbignev Lau said that NATO should respond to Russia's possible nuclear attack on Ukrainian in a conventional way. In his opinion, NATO's reaction should be devastating.
Polish Foreign Minister Zbignev Law appeared on Tuesday on Meet the Press NOW on NBC News NOW. When asked whether NATO should respond to Russia's possible use of nuclear weapon in the military, Lao replied:
- As far as we know, Putin threatens to use tactical nuclear weapon in Ukraine instead of attacking NATO. This means that NATO should respond in a conventional way, but the response should be devastating. I think that's exactly what NATO is sending to Russia now - Law said.
uses pseudo referendum as an excuse?
The minister also said that Russia could use a pseudo referendum in occupied Ukraine to justify the use of “extraordinary measures” to defend the occupied land. During the interview, the minister also mentioned the mobilization announced by Russia. He assessed that it was obvious that Putin was losing his war and sending "well-trained and poorly equipped soldiers" to the front would not change the course of the war, as the Ukrainian army had previously successfully defeated professional soldiers from Russia.
He also emphasized that mobilization may be a breakthrough for Russia itself, thus weakening Russian society's support for the war. “I think it will be a longer process, but the direction of the process is certain” – he said.
When asked how Poland will respond to continuing to contain Ukrainian refugees in the face of high inflation and economic issues, Law replied: "In short, our Polish DNA is united. This is our approach, both for better and for worse."
