Yangzi Evening News reported on September 28 (Reporter Bo Yunfeng) The 9th New Overseas Chinese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Achievements Exchange Activity sponsored by the China Federation of Overseas Chinese was recently held in Beijing. The event presented awards to representatives of the winners of the 9th "Overseas Chinese Contribution Award". It is gratifying that Jiangsu Province’s total number of winners and first prizes are both ranked among the top of the national provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese System.

"Contribution Award from Overseas Chinese Community" was established by China Overseas Chinese Federation in 2003. It is the highest award for selecting high-tech scientific and technological talents from overseas Chinese community. It is evaluated once every two years and has been successfully held for nine sessions so far.
The 9th "Overseas Contribution Award" commended a total of 128 winners, including 52 first prizes and 76 second prizes. This time, a total of 8 outstanding representatives from the overseas Chinese community in Jiangsu Province won the 9th "Overseas Chinese Community Contribution Award". Among them, Li Shutang, Ren Hongqiang, Liu Jiaping, Yu Zhongbo, , Lin Minjie (female), Gu Zhongze, 46 won the first prize, Fang Zhen and Cao Junli won the second prize, and Jiangsu Province won the total number of awards and the number of first prizes are both among the top national provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese System. The Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese won the "Excellent Organization Work Award".
Professor Lin Minjie, a member of the Federation of Overseas Chinese at Nanjing Normal University, won the first prize of the 9th "Overseas Chinese Contribution Award". She is the only female winner in Jiangsu Province and the first winner in the province with a background in humanities .

Professor Lin Minjie is a doctoral supervisor, currently a member of the Steering Committee of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the Ministry of Education, a member of the Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Expert Committee, an Executive Committee of the All-China Women's Federation, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial CPPCC, and an international consultant of the International Asian Community Society.
Lin Minjie was a distinguished professor at Tokyo University of Science and Technology in Japan, and has taught for 16 years at Keio University, Waseda University, and National College University, promoting the establishment of the East Asian Teacher Education International Alliance. In 2011, he became the only special professor of liberal arts in Jiangsu Province and taught at Nanjing Normal University. He has worked on the front line of teaching for many years and is committed to the cause of peace and friendship. He presided over or undertook the completion of more than ten national-level projects, international projects, etc., including major projects of the National Social Science Fund, presided over or participated in hosting hundreds of international academic conferences and cultural exchange activities, and was selected as national-level talent projects. He has won the advanced individuals who have made contributions to the comprehensive building of a moderately prosperous society, the national returned overseas Chinese and their families, the central NTU National Taiwan Affairs League's advanced individuals in fighting the epidemic, the entire league's advanced individuals in poverty alleviation, the Jiangsu Provincial Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award, Jiangsu "Zijin Cultural Talent Training Project" social science talents, the first young and middle-aged outstanding leading talents, outstanding teachers, etc.
It is understood that this year, a total of 128 winners were commended nationwide, with high levels of awards and great social contributions, with 19 academicians. Most of the winners have won several national and provincial awards, undertaken national key scientific research projects such as 863 and 973, and have made outstanding achievements or breakthroughs in their respective fields.
