As the world's leading automobile industry Toyota Motor has assembly production lines in major regions around the world to provide vehicle sales nearby, but now a factory is facing a permanent closure.
Recently, Toyota (Toyota ) issued a statement stating that the manufacturing plant in St. Petersburg, Russia will be officially closed for operation. The factory said that in March this year, the St. Petersburg factory had already suspended the production of the main responsible RAV4 and Camry models due to lack of raw materials. The factory's original plan was to suspend production, just to wait for the day when raw materials stabilize, and to quickly retrieve employees and resume production line operations.
However, after half a year, it is still impossible to solve the situation of insufficient raw materials, and there is no future for the situation to stabilize. So I decided to disband all employees this month and officially close the factory. The factory also stated that it will provide employment assistance, skills training, social welfare and other assistance to these employees, and will provide severance payments , which is better than the relevant regulations. In fact, the reason for the instability of Russia's raw materials is well known, which is the Russian-Ukrainian issue that will end. In order to impose sanctions, many countries have embargoed some goods to Russia, resulting in the inability to operate local production plants, including many automobile production plants.
However, Toyota said that although the factory stopped production operations in Russia, vehicle sales will not be affected and will continue to provide local product sales. However, the automobile industry in Russia relies on foreign investment. The Russian-Ukrainian problem has been greatly affected after the outbreak. According to foreign media reports, in terms of sales share last year and the same period this year, sales in July fell by 75%, and also decreased by 60% in August. It can be said that Russia experienced a serious recession in this way in the automobile industry. Of course, the same is true in other industries in Russia, and will be affected to varying degrees.
Not only that, due to the epidemic, the global economy has not been very prosperous in recent years, and the automobile industry is the first to bear the brunt!
