At the 19th Shangri-La Dialogue that concluded not long ago, there was such a piece of news that attracted everyone’s attention. According to the US " Washington Post " report, the newspaper's reporter Josh Rogin interviewed Ukrainian President Zelensky who attended the "Xiang Meeting". The latter called on the international community to support "sovereign countries like Taiwan Ukraine ." Upon first reading this report, all Chinese people were filled with indignation. After all, Ukraine maintains normal diplomatic relations with China. As the current president of Ukraine, Zelensky actually said "support Taiwan" in public. This is a blatant challenge to China's bottom line, which is intolerable! However, careful people soon discovered the problem. The so-called Zelensky’s speech on the Taiwan issue is nothing but a fabrication by the US media. The whole story of the
event is this. On June 11, Josh Rogin wrote in the Washington Post. He claimed in the article that Ukrainian President Zelensky was interviewed by him via video link that day. In response to his question, Zelensky called for "the international community to help Taiwan resist the attack of mainland China." Rokin said that this represents "the Ukrainian government's strongest defense and support for the Taiwan authorities to date." But is the whole story really like what he said?

After the video connection ended, the organizers of the Shangri-La Summit released the video of the interview. In the video, people saw that Luo Jin first quoted Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's Taiwan-related speech. Kishida Fumio’s original words were as follows, “What Ukraine encounters today may become East Asia’s tomorrow.” Next, Rokin began to directly compare the Taiwan issue with the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He claimed that mainland China is making so-called "Russian-style" threats to Taiwan. After some far-fetched discussions, Rogin asked Zelensky to provide some advice to Taiwan, which is facing a "military threat." Faced with Rogin’s question, Zelensky did not respond. He did not talk about the Taiwan issue, but only talked about the possible impact that the Ukraine crisis will have on the world. Zelensky claimed that the Ukraine crisis has set an example for the world. He believes that the international community cannot be at the mercy of a country with strong military and economic strength. Zelensky concluded by saying that the diplomatic way out lies before the war begins. He believed that preemptive diplomacy was necessary to avoid war.
From this video recording, it is not difficult to see two problems. First, the level of digging holes by American journalists is indeed extraordinary. In the interview, Luo Jin not only quoted classics, but also gave his opponents a preset position. Second, although the hole dug by Rokin was very hidden, Zelensky did not jump into it in the end. Throughout the interview, Zelensky avoided the Taiwan issue. What he said was nothing more than his personal reflections on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In other words, Luo Jin is faking it! Given Rogin’s special status, it directly raises questions about the credibility of the Washington Post. In fact, there have long been doubts about the mainstream American media represented by the Washington Post. Former US President Trump had great disdain for the American media, directly equating it with fake news. He once publicly claimed that he "doesn't even believe the punctuation marks" in the words of the American media. I believe many people will sympathize with Trump’s anger after watching the video of Rogin’s interview with Zelensky.
For the Western mainstream media represented by the US media, fabricating fake news has become a commonplace. Just last year, Bloomberg confidently declared that “war has broken out.” In the end, I had to defend myself shamelessly, "My hands were slippery and I made the wrong pronouncement." Now the "Washington Post" once again shows the moral limits of media people and blatantly touches on the Taiwan issue. What those American media, whose specialty is fraud, did not expect was that what they did was counterproductive. Why do Chinese young people have no basic trust in many mainstream Western media? It’s because I’ve seen them lie too much. In other words, it is these Western media themselves that educate China’s younger generation.
