The Belgian Association of Travel Organizers (ABTO) shows that the average budget of Belgian people visiting other countries has not been seriously affected by the current financial crisis caused by the new coronavirus and the Russian intrusion into Ukraine. The number of holidaymakers has soared 12% since 2019 .
Data provided by the Brussels Times shows that the average budget has increased from 1,006 euros per person in 2019 to 1,132 euros per person this year. Furthermore, it was reported that even those who have not yet booked a trip still stress that they are willing to spend 18% more on holiday compared to the figures before the spread of the new coronavirus and its new variants.
In this regard, a spokesperson for tour operator Neckermann told La Dernière Heure that these figures show that Belgian citizens absolutely do not want to reduce their holiday budget.

Belgian authorities believe that this year will mark a return to normalcy, especially in the most popular destinations.
