On February 1 this year, Myanmar President Win Myint, State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and some senior officials of the Democratic League were detained by the military. The Myanmar military subsequently declared a one-year state of emergency, and national power was transferred to the commander-in-chief of the National Defense Forces Min Aung Lai . On the same day, the military issued a statement stating that after the national emergency ends, Myanmar will re-elect general elections and state power will be transferred to the newly elected party. On February 2, the National Management Committee of Myanmar was established, with Min Aung Lai as the chairman of the committee.

According to Reuters , the case involving Myanmar President Win Myint and State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi opened the third court hearing on April 1st in Zebudiriyah Court in Naypyidaw. According to Aung San Suu Kyi’s team’s lawyer Min Min Soo, Aung San Suu Kyi was charged with an additional charge of hiding state secret documents. On March 31, the Myanmar military issued the "Declaration of Ceasefire and Permanent Peace", extending the nationwide ceasefire period for another month to April 30. However, the military emphasized that "except for the implementation of national defense and administrative affairs, military operations shall be halted nationwide, unless it involves the destruction of government security and administrative institutions." The purpose of extending the ceasefire period is to promote the active participation of relevant domestic parties in peace talks and celebration of the upcoming Songkran Festival, and calls on all parties to continue their efforts to obtain permanent domestic peace during this period.
