There is a ditch behind the village in my hometown called Tianqiaogou. Tianqiaogou is named after a stone strip more than ten meters long winding on the river at the mouth of the ditch. The ditch is more than twenty miles long. Due to the rich water source, abundant sunshine, deep forests and dense grass, it has become a world of birds. There are all rare birds such as the large-billed crow, common eagle owl, white-tailed harrier, and black woodpecker, not to mention sparrows, magpies, pheasants, eagles, and turtledoves. What I prefer to observe, take pictures and study are the thrushes in the ditch. They have given me many wonderful feelings and enlightenment on life, leaving unforgettable memories in my life.

Thrush is a medium-sized bird of the family Thrushidae. It is rich in color, with an olive upper body, tan from the top of the head to the upper back with black vertical stripes, white eye circles, and a narrow stripe along the upper edge extending back to On the occipital side, clear eyebrow lines are formed. The lower body is brown, with black vertical stripes from the throat to the upper chest, and the middle part of the abdomen is gray. The iris is orange or yellow, the upper mouth is orange, the lower mouth is olive yellow, the stem and toes are yellowish brown or light in color. It inhabits shrubs on hills and shrubs or bamboo forests near villages. It is alert and timid, and often forages in the grass under the forest. The male bird often hides alone among weeds and branches and sings very well. The song is melodious and graceful, which is very beautiful. It mainly feeds on insects, especially during the breeding season; it also eats grass seeds. The shape is beautiful, and the female and male birds have similar feather colors. The forehead is brown, the top of the head to the upper back is brown, and there are broad dark brown vertical stripes from the forehead to the upper back. The front part of the vertical stripes is darker in color and the back part is lighter in color. The eye circles are white, and the white upper edge extends backwards into a narrow line to the side of the neck, shaped like eyebrow lines, so it is called thrush.

According to my many years of observation, every year in March, when spring flowers bloom, it is the courtship season for thrushes. The male thrush is the first to go into estrus, singing loudly and softly to express his love for the female bird. While making oaths of love, it stands ready and warns possible love rivals to show that its marriage is inviolable. The thrush's hearing organs are very developed, extremely sensitive to audio vibrations, and respond extremely quickly. During the breeding season, the male bird is particularly good at singing, especially in the early morning and evening. Its chirping is high-pitched and passionate, tactful and changeable, and persistent. It is full of charm and very beautiful. When it is called fast, it is passionate and unrestrained, like pearls falling on a jade plate; when it is called slowly, it is like flowing clouds and flowing water. Especially its long-term continuous chirping is really breathtaking and breathtaking. Therefore, some people call it the "forest singer" or "bird singer".

In order to win the favor of the female bird, the male thrush almost tries his best to sing for love tirelessly. At the same time, he spares no effort to show his courtesy to the female bird. He even pretends to walk elegantly on the branches to show off as much as possible. His gentle and pleasant demeanor shows that he is a singing genius in his prime. If there are more than two competitors around a female thrush at this time, a fierce battle will be inevitable. The thrush is particularly good at fighting. During a fight, it can catch, crawl, roll, peck, and thrust without showing any signs of weakness, so it is known as the "hero bird." Of course, the thrush "Miss" who "sit on the mountain and watch the fight between tigers" will eventually choose the winner of the fight as her mate. However, the love between them is not exclusive and lasts forever. In other words, when their children have the ability to live independently, the "little family" established not long ago will be disbanded at the same time, and all members will go their separate ways and never see each other again.

There are a large number of thrushes here and a rich variety. It is a place I often like to visit. Photographing birds is very hard and requires patience and luck. Sometimes we wait for a long time, only to fail due to various unexpected circumstances, which is very regrettable. However, hard work pays off, and achievements are still important. The thrushes I photographed have different shapes and ever-changing postures, which have added a lot of happiness to my life. Many of the photos were posted to Moments and received likes and comments from friends. They were also published in the special program of the Bird Photographing Club. This greatly increased my confidence and interest. So far I have taken more than 300 pictures of thrushes, which I am preparing to compile into a book. In order to let more people know about, like and protect thrushes, I will continue on this road. Like other friends who shoot birds, I am happy no matter how hard I endure!
