Recently, Yuncheng Yanchi welcomed a new group of "guests" - Red Ma duck . They either forage on the mudflats or soar in the air.

Red Mahjong duck is golden in color, but it is not actually a duck. It is a rare bird and a national second-class protected animal. In 2016, it was included in the "Hyperichistoric Species List of the World Union for Conservation of Nature" and the "List of Terrestrial Wildlife that is beneficial or of important economic and scientific research value of the State Protection" issued by the State Forestry Administration on August 1, 2000.

Red Ma Duck is larger, with a body length of 51-68 cm and a weight of about 1.5 kg, which is slightly larger than the domestic duck. The whole body is red and yellow-brown, with obvious white wing spots and copper-green wing mirrors on its wings; the beak, feet and tail are black; the male bird has a black neck ring. Inhabits open grasslands, lakes, farmland and other environments, and feeds on various grains, insects, crustaceans, frogs, shrimps, and aquatic plants.
