The beaver has a large body, no obvious difference between female and male, with short head, small eyes, short neck, short limbs, short forelimbs, small feet, strong claws, thick and strong hind limbs, large tail and flat. Beaver is active at night, rarely goes out of holes during the day, is good at swimming and diving, does not hibernate, has weak self-defense ability, is timid, likes to eat the tender branches, bark and roots of a variety of plants, and reproduces once a year, with 1-6 baby per baby, lives along the cold temperate and sub-cold forests and rivers, mainly distributed in Europe, and there are fewer in other areas.

The subcutaneous muscles of the back are well developed, and the tailbone is attached with strong tendons. Both female and male have a pair of incense glands, located on both sides of the anus. The incense glands are flat and round, light gray, with an inner epidermal protrusion, forming wrinkles in the gland sac. Its secretions (beaver scent) are light yellow. The beaver body is covered with long, thick needle hair and dense, soft fluff. needle hair yellow-brown, with the base and velvet brown-gray. The adult's back is brown, and the head and abdomen are lighter than the back. [Habitat environment]:
Beaver is produced in forest rivers in the cold temperate and sub-cold zones, and lives on the shore. Broadleaf dense forests, shrub forests, and riverside valleys with gentle and deep water flow are selected as habitat sites.

[Breeding Method]:
Beaver breeds once a year, mating in January-2 months, giving birth in April-5 months, 1-6 babies per child, pregnancy period is about 106 days, lactation period is about 2 months, the baby will swim 2 days after birth, and sexual maturity is in the third year. Lifespan is 12-20 years.
[Popular Status]:
The population distribution is not scattered. Around 1900, the number of beaveres worldwide decreased to about 1,200; as protection measures began to be implemented, in 1998, it was estimated that 430,000 were globally, and by 2002 it reached at least 593,000, and the lowest in 2006 was estimated to be 639,000. However, the number of beaver in Asia is very small. In 2002, the number of Mongolia was about 150, and in China was about 700. The number of these populations is on the rise due to ecological destruction and human factors in China, its distribution area has rapidly shrunk and is on the verge of extinction. As of 2012, the number of beaveres in the entire Wulungu River system fluctuated between 500 and 800, of which there are 35 families in the Burgen River, 2 families in the Chagan River, and about 130 families in the Fuhai section of the Burgen River to the Wulungu River. The beaver of Mongolian is well protected and has a large number.The upper reaches of the Burgen River are within Mongolia, and about 40km away from the border is a natural distribution area for beaveres. It is said that several other rivers in Mongolia have been manually relocated to beaveres. China established the only beaver nature reserve in China in 1981 in the Burgen River Basin. The Burgen Beaver Reserve is located in the Burgen River Basin of Chaganguel Township, Qinghe County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang. It mainly protects the valley forest beaver habitat in the beaver distribution area along the 50km section of the Burgen River and the rare animal beaver in the world. The Burgen River is a river from east to west. It originates from Mongolia and flows into China 50km, and it merges with the Qinggeli River to the Ulungu River. The areas within 1 km on both sides of this 50 km long river are all included in the beaver protection area.
