September is the season for many migratory birds to replenish their energy and prepare to fly south. In the rice fields on the road more than ten kilometers away from the Yingchun Forestry Bureau, a group of special visitors were welcomed - Oriental White Storks . They sometimes stroll on the ridges of the field, as if they were checking in and posing in the beautiful scenery of the fields, and sometimes they flew to the nearby fish pond to catch fish and replenish their energy. There are about a hundred oriental white storks in this group. It is rare for such a large group of oriental white storks to appear in Yingchun Forest.
Oriental White Stork is a large wading bird, known as the "Bird Chinese Treasure". It is a national first-class protected wild animal with only a few thousand people around the world. It is listed as an endangered species by " World Union for Conservation of Nature ". Oriental white storks have extremely strict requirements on the living environment. Only wetland areas with sufficient water sources, abundant food, rare people and high comprehensive environmental quality can become their permanent residence.
In recent years, Yingchun Forestry Bureau Co., Ltd. has conscientiously implemented the concept of ecological priority and green development, attached great importance to ecological environment protection, strengthened resource management, and increased wildlife protection efforts. The ecological environment has been significantly improved. It has become an important channel for migratory bird migration. Tens of thousands of migratory migratory birds pass by here every spring and autumn. There are often rare migratory birds such as swans, red-crowned cranes, geese, white-pin cranes, spoonbills, etc. stop here to rest, forage, and replenish their physical strength, and accumulate strength for the long migration road. Yingchun Forest District has also become a "check-in" holy place and a "happy station" for migratory birds.
