It is reported that the Nujiang golden monkey was discovered in the Nujiang Prefecture in the Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve Lushui jurisdiction in 2011. They are the Jichuan golden monkey, Yunnan golden monkey_ span2span, golden snub-nosed monkey, Vietnamese golden snub-nosed monkey is the fifth species of the colobus subfamily Rhinoceros monkey, listed as CR (critically endangered) species by IUCN (World Conservation Union). At present, about 250 Nujiang snub-nosed monkeys have been monitored throughout the Nujiang section of the Gaoligong Mountains, and they are national first-class protected animals.
At the Yaojiaping Wildlife Conservation and Rescue Center, the reporter and his party saw the Nujiang Golden Monkey Silk, which has been sheltered and rescued for eight years. "Sisi was taken in for rescue in 2013. She was a young monkey when she was taken in and rescued. She was alone in the mountains and faced the risk of starvation. After being rescued by villagers, she was sent to the Lushui County Forestry Bureau. Later, the monkey was placed there. Here." said Wang Xingxu, assistant engineer of the Lushui Management and Protection Branch of Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve.

Wang Xingxu said that in order to provide a better shelter environment for the Nu River golden monkeys, the shelter and rescue center built a wild cage of more than 200 square meters for Sisi, based on the original vegetation. Climbing venues have also been added to preserve its original living habits as much as possible. At the same time, the breeder will go into the mountains to pick seasonal wild fruits for the silk and feed them according to the season. For example, wild kiwifruit in July, August and September, wild honeysuckle in autumn and winter, etc., to ensure its wild food habits.
It is reported that the Yaojiaping Wildlife Containment and Rescue Center is currently the only wildlife shelter and rescue center in Nujiang Prefecture. It mainly conducts wildlife rescue and imitating wild domestication. It has successfully received and rescued 1 Nujiang Golden Monkey, 2 Black Bears, etc. 1 eastern white-browed gibbon, 5 bear monkeys, 6 short-tailed monkeys, 4 macaque, 1 white pheasant, 1 grey-blue-headed parrot, and 2 white-cheeked Babblers.
In the process of wildlife rescue, the rescue center will try to provide wild animals with a wild living environment and maintain their wild life habits, so that wild animals can return to their homes in the wild. Wang Xingxu said that in the years when Sisi was rescued, she had tried to put it back into the wild. However, due to her young age at the time of the rescue, her ability to survive in the wild was weak, she relied heavily on the containment environment after the rescue, and several attempts were not made. It is successful, but its ferocity still exists, and people other than the breeder still have the risk of being scratched when they come into contact with it.
In its many years of containment and rescue work, the Yaojiaping Wildlife Containment and Rescue Center has separately fed all kinds of animals, scientifically established isolation areas, and used imitated wild cages for domestication to improve its own wild survival ability, improve the effectiveness of stocking, and cooperate with Kunming animals. Research institutes and other scientific research institutions and relevant universities have carried out relevant cooperation to comprehensively improve the comprehensive capacity of shelter and rescue, and make efforts in wildlife protection preaching and raising public awareness of wildlife protection. Today, the Yaojiaping Wildlife Containment and Rescue Center has become an important "home" for the wild animals in the Gaoligong Mountains.
