Tai Sui refers to Tai Sui Xingjun, which is the Jupiter referred to in ancient Chinese astronomy . Because Jupiter moves once every twelve months, the ancients called Jupiter the Sui Star or Tai Sui. It is both a star and a god worshiped by the people. Legend has it that every year, a god will be sent from heaven to watch the new year, responsible for the blessings and misfortunes of the world this year. The common people respect these gods as the new year Tai Sui. Different gods take turns every year, with a cycle of sixty years. In 2018, the year of the Wuxu Dog, Tai Sui is the general of Jiang Wu.
