Actor Jeremy Renner is in a "critical but stable condition" after being involved in a horrific weather-related accident, a spokesperson has confirmed.

A spokesman for the 51-year-old Hawkeye star, a two-time Oscar nominee, said he suffered serious injuries and had to be airlifted to hospital on Sunday.

"We can confirm that Jeremy was injured after a weather-related incident while clearing snow earlier today and is in critical but stable condition," a spokesperson told Hollywood .

They continued: "His family are with him and he is being looked after well."

Details about the accident are currently unknown.

While the spokesperson did not reveal where the accident occurred, local media recently reported that the actor owned a house near Mt Rose-Ski Tahoe.
