About the author

The author of this piece is Nastronauta, his real name is Giorgio, from Genoa, Italy, He wanted to build things with Lego bricks his whole life, which is why he studied to become an architect . He joined the IDEAS platform about a year ago.

This work called "Fantozzi Flying by Bus" was submitted to the IDEAS platform by Nastronauta on December 1, 2022. It received 10,000 votes in just 21 days. The collection time for for the third round of review in 2022 is about to end, so the work is very lucky.

By the way, this is also the first time Nastronauta has entered the "10,000-vote club". Take a look at all his submitted works.

About "Fantozzi"

Fantozzi Takes the Bus on the Fly, the editor translated it as "Fantozzi takes the bus to fly". This work is a tribute to the 1975 Italian comedy film "Fantozzi". This is a comedy film directed by Luciano Salce and starring Paolo Villaggio and Anna Mazzamauro. The film tells the story of a good-tempered but unlucky Italian.

In the movie, there is a bus chase scene and the building in this LEGO IDEAS 10,000-vote work. However, the editor did not find any description of the plot.

About the work

This work restores a scene from "Fantozzi". The main body includes a highway with an upper and lower structure and a residential building next to the highway.

The beige minifigure is Ugo Fantozzi, who is performing a series of comedies. The author did not disclose how many parts were used or how many minifigures were produced.

The residential apartment building in this work is the highlight. The residential building is a very thin open structure with a large area of retro-style apartments. The main colors are sand green and medium flesh color. At the back of the building there are many details to admire, the open back allows us to see into the domestic life of the neighbourhood.

Every room has details. Nastronauta designed exquisite interiors for each room, including toilet, piano room, fish tank corner, kitchen, coffee room, ironing room, maintenance room, garage, living room, study room, storage room, toy room, dining room... although each of them has a very small space.

This is the first time I have seen this kind of design idea. It is similar to the scene boxes gathered in one building.

Let's see how the author himself describes it:

Based on the iconic scene from the Italian comedy "Fantozzi" (1975), the model represents Ugo Fantozzi tried to make the bus fly: He ultimately failed, but the scene remains one of the funniest in comedy history.

This model is not only a tribute to that movie, but also an opportunity to build an entire retro city out of LEGO bricks, with a classic aesthetic (such as the green bus) and many domestic scenes that will be represented inside the architecture, with a lot of detail, even if each apartment is only 3 or 4 particles deep!

I had a lot of fun finding the best LEGO bricks for each detail: I was happiest with the scepters for the balcony railings, and the castle turret tops became the perfect brick highway for the basement.

This work aims to restore the original movie . I hope you can experience endless fun!

Summary

The editor believes that the number of parts in this work may be too many. I don’t know if there are more than 3,000 pieces. But if it is used as a work for playing and displaying for appreciation, it must be very suitable. Interacting with movie plots is also a good way to play.
