Today, a meat friend asked Elder Tang: Is there a kind of meaty called Dengtianle? What are its characteristics? How should I raise it?
The compact plant type Dentianle
The introduction of the succulent Dentianle:
A few days ago, a meat friend asked: Is there a kind of succulent called Dentianle? Although the name is weird, there is indeed such a succulent species. If you like succulents with fragrant leaves, you must know the famous lily and lily, and Dentianle is one of its hybrid parents. Therefore, its leaf shape is not only similar to that of lily and lily, but also has a sweet fruit-like fragrance.
There are thin fuzz on the leaves of Dengtianle
Dengtianle, also called Sun and Moon, is native to the Canary Islands and is a small lotus palm. The plant height is usually about 15-20 cm. The leaves are relatively thick, obovate or diamond-shaped, about 2-4 cm long and only about 1-1.2 cm wide. The leaves are covered with a layer of fine fuzz and are slightly sticky. The leaves of Dentianle are usually green, but when the light is sufficient, they will turn into light yellow. At the same time, the fragrance emitted by the leaves will become more intense.

What are the characteristics of Dengtianle?
According to my understanding, Dentianle has three major characteristics. The first is that its leaves are naturally fragrant. You must know that the mage-type succulents are most complained about because some varieties have the smell of smelly socks, such as purple cashmere, Halloween, red Xiafei, Shaoxian, etc. However, Dentianle and its hybrid variety Lily Lily help the mages win back the victory, telling everyone that mages are not only smelly, but also fragrant.
Fragrance is the biggest feature of Dengtianle
Secondly, Dengtianle has a compact plant type. The maintenance environment, whether it is a balcony, a roof or a yard, only requires a small space to place it, and it does not take up any space. Furthermore, Dentianle’s demand for light is not high. Even if we don’t have the conditions to raise it in the open, we can still grow it well by placing it on a balcony with bright astigmatism. Of course, it doesn’t work if you don’t get any sun at all. Not only will the scent of Dentianle be very weak, but it will also grow too much.
The maintenance method of Dengtianle placed on the balcony
Dengtianle:
Choose a pot and soil: rough clay pots, red pottery basins, Vientiane basins, purple clay pots and small plastic square basins can be used to raise Dengtianle, as long as the ventilation is not bad and there are drainage holes in the bottom of the basin. As for the soil configuration, Dengtianle's requirements are not high. Just plant other succulent granular soil like we usually do (it's no problem to use the replaced old granules to mix soil to grow Dengtianle), but the proportion of particles should not be too high. About half is enough.
Even small black cubes can raise Dentianle.
Light and moisture: Dentianle is not a succulent with bright purple or red color, so we don’t need to bask it in the sun often, just put it in a place with bright light for maintenance. Such a maintenance environment is also conducive to Dentianle spending the summer. After all, as a succulent of the genus Lotus, it will also go dormant when the temperature is high in summer. Then we will save the trouble of shade and rain protection. Dentianle is watered about once every 7-10 days in spring and autumn. Watering needs to be controlled during summer dormancy and low temperatures in winter. A small amount of watering once every 20 days to a month is enough.

Insect prevention and repotting: Dengtianle, like other mages, is susceptible to scale insects during the maintenance process, but if we take regular insect control measures (use systemic insecticides for it), we can sit back and relax. Finally, when we grow Dentianle, we need to repot it every 3-4 years (repotting is enough without exploding the pot). When repotting, we don’t need to completely remove the soil. We only need to remove two-thirds of the soil at the bottom, and then move the pot with the soil.
