" Wall Street Journal " quoted an unnamed Polish official as saying that Warsaw is willing to reach a reciprocal agreement with Moscow. In return, Poland hopes to allow its inspectors to check the missile location in Kaliningrad, Russia.

According to U.S. officials, the idea of getting Russians into US facilities in Poland was originally proposed by Moscow. Kremlin has repeatedly opposed the deployment of foreign missiles on European territory and said it can use air defense facilities to launch ballistic missile to Russian territory.

The Wall Street Journal reported that "Polish officials said the government is willing to accept missile defense inspections on the condition that Russia allows to check its missile activities in Kaliningrad . Kaliningrad is a highly militarized Russian enclave on the Baltic Sea, bordering Poland and Lithuanian ."

At the end of last year, Russia announced the Russian plan for the "Security Assurance Agreement" submitted to NATO and the United States. The documents include a long list of security guarantees the Kremlin requires, including requiring the U.S. to withdraw missiles and troops from the Russian border. On Wednesday (26th), U.S. Ambassador to Moscow John Sullivan submitted a counter-proposal to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

U.S. Secretary of State Blinken explained, "We will not disclose this document because we believe that diplomatic means are most likely to succeed if we provide space for secret talks. We hope and expect Russia to see the same thing and take our proposal seriously."

"In my opinion, there is no doubt that if Russia takes this issue seriously, in the spirit of reciprocity, and is determined to strengthen the collective security of all of us, then there is something very positive in this document that should be implemented." (Editor: SDY)
