After investigation, Kensako Kane received a total of 800 million yen (about 46.43 million yuan) from the inheritance and other assets of the four lovers.
The court said in its ruling that Kensako used the trust of the victims to murder them. Although Chisako Kane admitted the crime, she did not apologize to the victims' families or did not reflect on herself.
The court held that Kenzako "blatantly ignored the lives of others for his own financial desires" and eventually sentenced Kenzako to death.
Jian Qiansako's appeal failed and the original judgment was upheld. The court has not yet announced the execution date of Kensako.
According to Japanese law, death row prisoners must be executed within 6 months after the sentencing hearing. However, experts say the execution is difficult to go as usual, as criminals will insist on appealing.
