IT Home reported on October 11 that if there are no new software vulnerabilities or problems, Apple plans to release the iPadOS 16.1 system in the last week of October.

IT Home October 11th news, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, if there are no new software vulnerabilities or problems, Apple plans to release the iPadOS 16.1 system in the last week of October.

Gurman said in a tweet that iPadOS 16.1 is expected to be released in the week of October 24 (October 25, Beijing time). Given that the iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1 updates have the same Build version number, it is likely that Apple will release iOS 16.1 at the same time.

Apple previously stated that iPadOS 16 will be released in October, but no specific release date is provided.

iPadOS 16 was initially expected to be released simultaneously with iOS 16 in September, but Apple delayed the iPadOS software update after some users criticized the new pre-end scheduling (which allowed multiple applications to be used in overlapping windows) for a lot of bugs.

IT Home learned that pre-stage scheduling allows users to open up to four applications in overlapping windows on the iPad display to improve the multitasking experience. There are also modified front-end schedules on macOS 13 Ventura to keep windows in front and in the middle.

Apple recently expanded its pre-desk dispatch to the old iPad Pro for the 2018 (A12X) and 2020 (A12Z), although there is no external monitor support, which will limit the use of four applications for the built-in monitor. Apple has also delayed external monitor support for the M1 iPad model, which is expected to arrive later this year.

In view of this delay, iPadOS 16 will be released as iPadOS 16.1. This update is compatible with all iPad Pro models, iPad Air 3 and update, the fifth generation iPad mini 5 and update, and iPad 5 and updated devices.

Apple macOS 13 Ventura will also be released in October.
