According to Brazilian media UOL, the Brazilian Ministry of Health confirmed on Thursday (9th) that a 37-year-old female doctor became the first secondary infection of new coronary pneumonia in the country, and the two diagnosis results were 116 days apart.
According to the Ministry of Health, the female doctor is from Natal City, Beida Hezhou (northeast Brazil), working at a local medical center and has not disclosed any further information.
On June 17 this year, the female doctor developed symptoms such as headache, abdominal pain and runny nose. She was diagnosed with COVID-19 for the first time on June 23. After recovering from self-isolation, she developed symptoms of new coronary pneumonia again on October 11 and was diagnosed for the second time on October 13.
The hospital where she works sent her two test samples of the new coronary pneumonia to the laboratory for genetic sequence analysis. The analysis results confirmed that the patient was infected with the new coronavirus twice with different strains.
At present, the local area is investigating five other suspected secondary infection cases of COVID-19.
According to data from Hopkins University in the United States, as of the 11th, Brazil ranked third in the world in terms of confirmed COVID-19 cases, with over 6.78 million cases and nearly 180,000 deaths.
On December 8, local time, Brazilian President Bolsonaro said that the government will provide free vaccination to all Brazilians. Previously, he said that he would not receive the new crown vaccine.
According to Brazilian Health Minister Eduardo Pazulo, this universal vaccination program may be launched between January and February next year.

As of now, there have been secondary infections of new coronavirus pneumonia in many parts of the world.
A case study article published in October by the authoritative medical journal The Lancet, which has many confirmed cases of secondary infections that are more serious than when they were first infected.
article stated that the situation of secondary infection should be paid attention to in the development and application of vaccines.
Compared with natural coronavirus infection, a professor of immunology at Yale University once pointed out that the new coronavirus vaccine currently being developed has more advantages in stimulating the human immune response. Therefore, repeated infections do not mean that the immune protection capacity brought by the new crown vaccine will be equally short-lived. How long can the new crown vaccine provide for protection will take time and large-scale clinical trials to verify.
