When it comes to Canada and Australia, people are all familiar with it. The two countries are two very famous developed countries in the world and are the preferred destinations for world immigration. The two countries have many similarities. The two countries have beautiful environments and wealthy economies, and are both English-speaking countries. The most interesting thing is that the two countries are actually brother countries, even the head of state is the same. The heads of state of both countries are the Queen of England. Many people can't help but wonder, Canada and Australia are both independent countries, why are the heads of state of the two countries the Queen of England?
This starts with the origins of Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. Canada and Australia were once British colonies. Before the arrival of the British, both countries were undeveloped places with vast land and sparsely populated areas, with only a small number of very primitive and backward indigenous people living there. After the British arrived, they conquered Canada and Australia, turned them into their own colonies, and began to immigrate to the local area. Ultimately, Canada and Australia became British-led immigration countries. As a colony of the British, they were naturally under the leadership of the Queen of England. And since the local area is almost all descended from British people and they need the support of the British, they are loyal to the British. The two places can be regarded as extensions of the UK.
After World War I, due to the severe decline of Britain, in order to win over Australia and Canada, Britain promoted Australia and Canada's status and upgraded them to dominance. From then on, the two places gradually became independent. In 1931, the British Parliament passed the Balfour Declaration, the famous Westminster Act, formally establishing the relationship between Britain and its dominions. The five major autonomous lords of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Ireland, and formed the Commonwealth together with the United Kingdom (UK), and jointly held the British King as the head of state. In this way, the relationship between the United Kingdom and Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries was determined.
Although Australia and Canada have been basically independent since then, they still maintain a very special relationship with the United Kingdom. These countries still agree with , the British Empire, and still recognize themselves as the Queen's people. After the outbreak of World War II, they stood on the side of the British and followed the British to fight south and north, maintaining the dignity of the British Empire. They made important contributions to the British Empire and were the strong backing of the British Empire. After World War II, as the British Empire had declined and was unable to maintain a huge empire and stable colonial rule, the British Empire fell apart under the joint suppression of the United States and the Soviet Union, and the British colonies and autonomous territories were independent. Although the British Empire has disintegrated, some countries are still full of feelings for Britain and still maintain close ties with Britain, including Canada and Australia. Although these countries have completely independent and become truly sovereign states, they still remain in the commonwealth family and hold the Queen of England as the head of state. So now Canada and Australia have no presidents, only Governor and PM.
The Governor is the representative of the Queen of England, nominated by the Prime Minister and appointed by the Queen. He is the spokesperson of the Queen of England in the local area. They possess symbolic powers, and they were to serve allegiance to the Queen of England when they were in office. In fact, under Canadian and Australian laws, every immigrant must take allegiance to the Queen of England when joining Canadian and Australian nationality. The Prime Minister is the highest person in charge of of the national administrative organs of and the highest chief executive, responsible for all national affairs. Of course, like Australia and Canada, there are New Zealand and other countries. Currently, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom is the head of state of 16 countries including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Papua New Guinea, Tuvalu , and Saint Lucia . Although the British Empire no longer exists, the British still have some strength. This is the foundation of the British Empire.
