htmlOn April 28, Times Higher Education (Times Higher Education , THE) released the world university influence ranking.

This ranking includes 1,524 universities in 110 countries and regions around the world, an increase of 23% year-on-year, resulting in a total ranking and a single ranking of 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs for short).

This year, a total of 20 mainland Chinese universities participated in the influence ranking, of which 13 were included in the overall ranking, and the other seven participated in the individual ranking.

Fudan University participated in the influence ranking for the first time, ranking 27th in the world, and is also the only mainland Chinese university among the top 100. At the same time, it ranks second in the world in the single ranking of "Decent Work and Economic Growth".

Three mainland Chinese universities have been listed for the first time in the world rankings, namely Fudan University, Southern University of Science and Technology and Southwest University of Petroleum . In terms of

individual ranking, some Chinese universities have also achieved good results.

For example, in the single ranking of "Good Health and Well-being", Wenzhou Medical University climbed from 56 last year to the top 32; Capital Medical University participated in the ranking for the first time, ranking 54th in the world.

In the single ranking of "quality education", Shanghai Normal University ranked html from last year's 101-200 range to 65th place; South China Normal University also ranked in the top 100 in the world.

In the single ranking of "Decent Work and Economic Growth", two mainland Chinese universities ranked in the top ten in the world, namely Fudan University, ranked second and Southern University of Science and Technology, ranked ninth, both participated in the influence ranking for the first time.

In the single ranking of "industry, innovation and infrastructure", six mainland Chinese universities ranked in the top 100 in the world, namely Shanghai University , Fudan University, University of Electronic Science and Technology , Guangdong University of Technology , Beijing University of Technology , and China University of Petroleum (Beijing).

Overall, among the top 100, the UK has the largest number of universities, with 20, followed by Australia, Canada and New Zealand , with 17, 16 and 7 respectively.

Times Higher Education Chief Knowledge Officer Phil Barty believes that the world university influence rankings redefine the excellence of global higher education—based on how universities improve our world, rather than on traditional measures such as wealth and academic reputation.

This ranking evaluates universities based on 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. The data comes from the data submitted by various universities and the Elsevier paper database.

Times Higher Education World University Influence Ranking was first launched in 2019. In the first year, it included a total of 462 universities in 76 countries and regions around the world. At that time, a total of three mainland Chinese universities were listed, namely Suzhou University , South China University and Xiangtan University .
