Changjiang.com (Correspondent Yang Liu) In order to help more Wuhan software and service outsourcing companies pass the Software Maturity (CMMI) certification, on August 23, the Wuhan Information Technology Outsourcing Service and Research Center held a CMMI public welfare training course in Wuhan University Science and Technology Park. Software professionals from nearly 20 companies including Hubei Kaijia Energy Technology Group Co., Ltd., Wuhan Langshu Technology Co., Ltd., Wuhan Green Network Information Service Co., Ltd., Wuhan Dongri Technology Co., Ltd., Wuhan Bluestar Software Technology Co., Ltd., Wuhan Cangqiong Electronic Instrument Co., Ltd., Wuhan Zhongzhi Hongtu Technology Co., Ltd., etc. participated in the training.

Professor Zhu Huide explained CMMI agile project management

Since 2013, the construction of characteristic industrial parks in Hubei Province's software and information service industry has been accelerated comprehensively. In 2014, Hubei's main business revenue exceeded 100 billion yuan, becoming a new industry with a scale of 100 billion yuan, ranking first in the central region. At present, Hubei's software industry has gathered a large number of high-quality enterprises in the special fields of industry and embedded software, earth space information, information security, service outsourcing, digital content and creativity. Optics Valley Software Park has more than 100 companies and nearly 10,000 employees, making it the largest software and service outsourcing industrial park in the central and western regions of my country.

CMMI certification is an indispensable part of domestic software and service outsourcing companies entering the international market. For this training, the Wuhan Information Technology Outsourcing Service and Research Center specially invited Professor Zhu Huide, an authorized CMMI lecturer from the School of Software Engineering (SEI) of Carnegie Meilong University (CMU) in the United States, to conduct CMMI certification training in Wuhan. Professor Zhu Huide is a PhD in the Department of Computational Sciences at Newcastle University in the UK and the Dean of the School of Information, Deming University of Finance and Economics, Taiwan. He is also the Director of CMMI, the Center for Information Technology Outsourcing Services and Research, Wuhan, specializing in software quality management and project management.

Professor Zhu Huide introduced the basic concepts and overall framework of CMMI to the software engineering managers, developers, testers and process managers on the spot, and focused on the core of CMMI certification - agile project management. At the same time, Professor Zhu Huide had sufficient interaction with the students on the spot to help them better understand the content of the training.

American Project Management Association PMI has found that many project needs are constantly changing. Teams with less than 10 members have applied the previous thinking of "doing plans first and then doing things" and the project cannot be pushed at all. Therefore, PMI advocates the use of agile (Agile) approach to managing changing projects, and has officially launched the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) knowledge system and certification since 2011, allowing project managers to have the ability to adapt quickly.

Professor Zhu Huide emphasized that when the needs are unclear, agile management allows you to stand out from the chaotic needs. Agile management emphasizes that the purpose of the project is to create customer value, not to execute plans. Customers must seek innovation, change and speed to win in the market, while valuable needs must be constantly communicated, executed, displayed and reviewed. Therefore, if the project is implemented according to the planned plan formulated N months ago, even if it can be completed as scheduled, on quality and on budget, if the delivered item has no value to the customer, it is a failed project. On the contrary, the project will stop after only one month of execution, but the team proves that the concept is not feasible for the client during the period, or the continued investment will not be worth the loss. They are all valuable successful projects.

Following cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, and Dalian, Wuhan will become a new destination for the global service outsourcing industry. Driven by Internet+, Wuhan’s software industry will enter a period of transformation, and technological innovation, industrial form and competitive landscape are being reconstructed. "Going out" and "Invite in" will become important strategies for the transformation of Wuhan's service outsourcing industry. In 2016, Wuhan City was rated as a pilot city for service trade, pointing out the direction for the development of the research center. Through the green card of enterprises going abroad - CMMI certification, it will promote the development of Wuhan's pilot city for service trade innovation.
