In 2020 and 2021, Guan Xiangdong also rushed to the front line to spend his unforgettable birthdays in Kashgar and Zhengzhou respectively.

Guan Xiangdong is one of the founders of the Critical Care Medicine Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. He has been working in the critical care medicine department of in 1988. As a critically ill expert of the "national team", he was ordered to go to support the national fight against the epidemic 14 times, and has successively rushed to Hubei, Heilongjiang, Xinjiang, Liaoning, Yunnan, Hunan, Henan and other provinces. He entered the "red zone" with the highest risk every day, never taking a step back, and the cumulative anti-epidemic time exceeds 340 days.
In early 2020, Guan Xiangdong, as the chairman of the Critical Care Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, called on fellow critical care medical staff to go to Wuhan. According to National Health Commission statistics, among the 42,600 medical staff sent to Hubei nationwide, 19,000 were critical care medical workers, and the number of critical care medical workers sent to Hubei accounted for 10% of the total number of critical care medical workers in the country, and all the staff of the critical care department of Zhongshan Hospital where he is located is among them. When rushing to help all over the country, his protective clothing had big words such as "Guaranteed OK" written on it, allowing critically ill patients to recognize him at a glance and feel at ease.
"Always insist on putting people first and life first is not just empty talk." Guan Xiangdong said that as a critically ill expert, 14 trips to the war are a matter of duty. If you fail to participate, it will become a regret.
