The reporter saw that the water in the water where the incident occurred was not deep, and the water flow was not fast. The bottom of the water could be seen with the naked eye. The water surface not far away was relatively wide. Two drowning students were salvaged on the shore there.
The mother of a drowning student, Xiao Feng, said that the child does not like swimming normally and watch TV, play games or play basketball at home on weekends.
"That afternoon, several classmates asked him to go out to play. He was going to play basketball, but he didn't know why he ran here to swim." Xiao Feng's mother said that he and her husband were working in the town and rarely stayed at home on weekends. He usually warned his children not to swim in the river, but he agreed.

Xiao Jin, a student who swam with him, introduced that in the afternoon of that day, he and five friends, including Xiao Feng, came to the river to swim. At 4 pm on the day of the incident, the Wanning Fire Rescue Brigade received a drowning police incident. Xinglong Station deployed 2 fire trucks, 1 rubber boat and 11 officers and soldiers to search and rescue.
"One group uses probe poles to search and rescue in the water, and the other group uses rubber boats to cooperate with drag hooks to search on the water." Li Yingjie, director of Xinglong Station of Wanning Fire Rescue Brigade, introduced that the search and rescue continued until the sky turned dark.
13 at 6 a.m. on the 13th, the search and rescue continued. Wanning Fire Rescue Brigade sent five officers and fighters from Wancheng Station to support him. Blue Sky Rescue Team and nearby villagers also participated in the search and rescue. Finally, near 8 o'clock, the first drowning student was salvaged ashore, but unfortunately he had lost his vital signs. At 4 pm that day, the second drowning student was also found.
The two students were salvaged and went ashore almost the same location, only a few dozen meters away from the drainage point. Li Yingjie said that the bottom of the water area where the incident occurred was complicated, and the water level rose due to the days of rainfall, making it very difficult to rescue.
A villager near the waters where the incident occurred told reporters that although the town government set up warning signs nearby, there are many people who come here to swim, including many students who come to play in the water together.

Li Yingjie told reporters that the drowning of two students made the commanders and fighters involved in the salvage very sad. He also hopes to remind the parents of students that the National Day holiday is approaching, and hopes that parents can take good care of their children and not swim in rivers or reservoirs with unknown water conditions.

In addition, the school also vigorously promotes students' swimming skills training, and arranges classes to go to Xinglong to take swimming classes every week. As early as 2019, Xiao Feng and Xiao Gao had obtained the certificate of passing swimming training.
