Laoshan District has listed the free vaccination of 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine for elderly people over 60 years old in the district as a government work. It has invested 3.88 million yuan to vaccinate 23-valent pneumonia streptococcal vaccine for 30,000 registered residents. From 2016 to 2020, this project will be included in normal management, and 23-valent pneumonia streptococcal vaccine will be vaccinated for people aged 60 years old every year. As of 2020, a total of 42,803 people have been vaccinated, effectively preventing the occurrence of pneumococcal diseases in the elderly and protecting the health of the elderly. This work has also received strong support from the majority of residents. In 2021, the district government decided to expand the scope and include permanent residents aged 55-60 in the vaccination scope, and provide a free dose of 23-valent Streptococcus pneumoniae vaccine. It was launched in April and completed by the end of October. Eligible recipients can bring their ID cards to the local community health service center and the vaccination clinic for consultation, registration and vaccination. It is estimated that 15,000 people will be vaccinated in 2021.
