On the afternoon of May 20, we checked in the Lengshuitan District Nanhua Hotel. The hotel was in good condition and the staff were very attentive. At 8:00 am on May 21, we rushed to the first stop of our trip: Lanshan County Xiangjiangyuan National Forest Park.
On the first day, Lanshan County, Xiangjiangyuan, Gaotangping Reservoir (Ehuanghu), Taxia Temple
It took more than three hours to drive from Lengshuitan to Lanshan County Xiangjiangyuan National Forest Park. Along the way, I heard the Director of the Tourism Bureau tell us a lot of interesting knowledge about Yongzhou, including the local, human, historical and geographical aspects, which made us look forward to the various destinations of this itinerary.
11:30 We arrived at the scenic area and there were three words "Xiangjiangyuan" written on a huge rock. The scenic spot is under construction, and even the toilets are newly renovated, with a pure wood structure that is clean, bright and comfortable. Most of the wooden plank roads for climbing have been built. You can easily walk up the mountain while enjoying the scenery while walking along the wooden plank road. There is a stream in the valley flowing happily. This is the water from the source of the Xiangjiang River. It is hard to imagine that the huge Xiangjiang River is actually formed by such small streams.
Walking up the plank road, a waterfall appeared in front of you. The water quality was clear and transparent. You could see the stone at the bottom in the pool under the waterfall. Although the waterfall is not high and not very large, it is still very exciting because it is the first waterfall I saw on this trip. We still have a lot of excitement. The ingredients of the mountain farmhouse are all green and natural, and the large pieces of bacon are satisfying to watch. The small river fish has a fresh and fragrant taste. The first time I saw a wild mushroom called threne fungus. It is said that it will only grow when thunder is blowing. It tastes tender and delicious in the soup. As for bamboo shoots, they are simply standard in the mountains. Fresh bamboo shoots are crispy and refreshing, which greatly boosts appetite.
After lunch, we drove to Gaotangping Reservoir, which is a natural lake on the top of the Xiangjiang River source high mountain. The local tourism department has named it Ehuang Lake, and there is also a lake to the north of it that is named Niaoying Lake.
Blue Mountain is part of Jiuyi Mountain . Jiuyi Mountain is the main peak of Mengzhuling . According to legend, Emperor Shun died in the wilderness of Cangwu when he was 100 years old and was buried in Jiuyi, Jiangnan. The wilderness of Cangwu is Mengzhuling (the wilderness of Cangwu refers to the Nanling area). Jiuyi Mountain is the place where Emperor Shun’s essence is stored, so these two high mountain lakes were named after Emperor Shun’s two concubines Ehuang and Niaoying.

Before the last ray of sunset, we rushed to Taxia Temple in Lanshan County. Taxia Temple is also called Cyro Dragon Temple. There are monks and Taoists in this temple, and monks and Taoists live in harmony. There is a tower in the temple, which seems to be built during the Song Dynasty. The tower body is tilted to the northeast, which can be called the Chinese version of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Locals say that the tower body is tilted to the direction of the tower body, and it is said that many rich people have really appeared in the northeast.
Day 2: Shuangpai County , Yangmingshan main peak, Wanshou Temple, Wanhe Lake, Langyuan, Tongziao
Since we planned to take pictures of the sunrise in Yangmingshan the next day, we rushed to Yangmingshan to stay that night.
The weather in Yongzhou is very hot, but it is very cool on Yangming Mountain. At around five o'clock the next morning, we rushed to the main peak of Yangming Mountain. There was an Yongzhou TV microwave tower on the main peak, and the vehicle could drive all the way under the microwave tower.
As soon as I got off the car, I felt that the wind was very strong on the top of the mountain, with level 5 and 6. It was very dangerous to take off the drone in such a strong wind. The weather on this day was not very transparent, and rain was predicted. Clouds with moisture passed by us one by one. The ladies began to feel cold, and we were like flying in the clouds.
It was too early, and the gate of the microwave station was locked from the inside. We couldn't enter inside and couldn't find the commanding heights. Seeing the sun shyly emerging from the mountain peaks in the distance, I was unwilling to detour the house and wanted to try to climb up the microwave tower. Unexpectedly, my attempt brought us hope. I actually found a step behind the house, which could go directly to the roof of the microwave station. When I reached the roof, I could see the scenery in front of me. I stood on the roof and shouted downward, "Can you come up from behind." As I quickly raised my camera and took the last sunrise. I just took two pictures, and the sun hid in the clouds again.
After the sun came out, the mountain wind decreased a little. I tried to fly the drone and carefully took pictures of the microwave tower and distant mountains with the reminder of "The wind speed is too high, please land as soon as possible".
There is a monument to the Red Army Martyrs and a statue of the leader of the Red Sixth Army on Yangming Mountain. Before the Long March, the Red Sixth Army had been dealing with Chiang’s army in Yangming Mountain to explore the way for the Central Red Army. Later, crossing the Xiangjiang River and jumping out of the Chiang’s army, joining He Long’s Red Army and reorganized into the Red 26th Army.
On the mountain not far from the monument is Southern Hunan The largest temple "Wanshou Temple". According to legend, this mountain was originally called "Yanghe Mountain". During the Ming Dynasty, a monk Xiufeng presided over the temple. When he was sitting in the temple for three years, his body was not corrupted. He was granted the title of Seventh Ancestor of Zen by the Ming Dynasty, the Ming Dynasty, who was enfeoffed by Yongzhou, and Yanghe Mountain was changed to Yangming Mountain. The reason for the name change is said to be that when the ancestor of Xinxue was demoted to Guizhou, Wang Yangming passed by Yangming Mountain and had contact with local celebrities. The King of Nanwei admired his name, so he changed this mountain to Yangming Mountain.
To commemorate the original "Yanghe Mountain" display of "He" culture, relevant departments invited tens of thousands of celebrities to write 10,000 "He" characters for exhibition, and named a lake on the mountain "Wanhe Lake". menghe Lake is a mountain trail that can directly lead to Wanshou Temple. Walking on the stone path is a dense fir tree forest. The fir trees block the sunshine, and the forest is cool. The thick fir tree fallen leaves cover the ground, the air is filled with the fragrance of fallen leaves, and a stream flows down from the valley, and the sound of running water washing the stones from time to time. Suddenly, the sun shone into the woods, leaving a contoured light on the tree, and then drizzled again.
This forest is full of winding paths. Wild bracken emerges from the fallen leaves. The withered branches seem to be inserted into the trunk. A dead tree has parasitized vines, and the branches and leaves of the vines decorate the dead trees, and the dead trees seem to have been reborn. I sat in the car, and I couldn't wake up from that trance. After 40 minutes, I had arrived at a small village at the foot of Yangming Mountain: Tongziao.
Hear the name of this village, you would think that this place is famous for its tung trees, but unexpectedly, this is actually a small village known for its ginkgo trees. There are hundreds of ancient ginkgo trees in the village, with the longest age of more than 1,000 years.
Generally speaking, the best season for ginkgo viewing is when the leaves turn yellow in autumn. The leaves in May are green, but I found that at this time, the green trees are thick, and the bamboo fences are hidden in the green trees. Chicken and dogs are heard inside and outside the bamboo fence. The old man with a cane is walking in the ginkgo forest. The bent farm woman feeding the chickens with leftover rice. The haystack of more than 30 years has been leaning on the ginkgo branches. The firewood shed built by four pillars is full of firewood.
